Yes, somehow. The first time I had to do any of those it was intimidating and confusing, but now I feel like I'm starting to understand more of it (though I have a feeling taxes will always be confusing).

I am going to school for accounting, so I understood some of it during before going to school but know I am understanding it in detail. I also been working since I was 16. Bought two new cars with 0% interest and been in 4 wrecks, 2 of them I was stopped at a red light and got hit from behind, 1 I was at work and a semi-truck hit my car (note: it was the only car in the parking lot at that time), and a hit and run. I just know what I need to do and how to do from making mistakes and learning from them. I have never paid a late fee in my life and not planning to anytime soon.

Negative, but I am trying to learn online about each so I will not remain nescient of them. Thankfully for me and other curious individuals, there are tutorials on YouTube and other sites.

Bills are little more than addition and subtraction, with the key being good maintenance of the latest data. I keep a spreadsheet of every output and input so as to know what money has flowed in or out at any given time. That allows me to extrapolate trends and plan spending based on future earnings.

Really: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. That's it. You've learned everything you'll need to manage your financial life by the time you're 12 years old.

Unfortunately I get to pay the lion's share of bills in my house, I'm also the one who gets to joint file the taxes, and insurance is relatively maintenance free. Health insurance comes from my job, car insurance is straight forward, home insurance the mortgage company sets up for you.

I do not do my own taxes because I have an accountant for that, but if for some reason my accountant quits or something happens...I can complete them myself. In high school and in my first two years of college, I wanted to be prepared when I started paying my taxes, bills, and taking care of other financial aspects of my life. Car insurance....I manage to do by myself just fine. I bought a truck by myself for the first time and just dealt with the insurance. But since I'm back in my home state I use the insurer that I've had since 15 years old. He's excellent.
