I think there are more CMs but the others are copyrighted. Anyways, I saw a chapter of the manga updated earlier today and noticed that Shaft will be involved int his. Thoughts on this? I'm actually getting hyped now considering that premise and the diverse character cast. Plus, Shaft is one my favorite studios and I just love their style.

Much hype, just because of the names involved. Waiting for a PV with actual animation in it though; Nisekoi feels over-exaggerated and the character designs are kinda flat (imo); kind of hoping for a higher-class aesthetic from this one.

Can't remember if this is the second or third show with a HikiNEET staring as a lead this season; either way, I guess its just the logical extension of what's going on in the anime industry. It is slightly worrying, because this laser focus on the HikiNEET crowds will eventually distance anime from mainstream audiences, if it hasn't already.

That being said, I am looking forward to this. SHAFT is a big reason why, as well as the genres. Other that that, I don't really know much about the pedigree of the staff or the original manga, so I'll watch and decide on the show's merits.

"The Kagerou Project is a series of songs by the song producer Shizen no Teki-P, or Jin. There have been nine songs uploaded to the Japanese video sharing site Nico Nico Douga and four songs exclusively for the album Mechanical City Days. One novel has been released, Kagerou Days -in a daze-, and it's sequel, Kagerou Days -a headphone actor-, was released on September 29, 2012. A manga is being published monthly on Comic Gene, illustrated by Sato Mahiro. An anime adaptation titled Mekaku City Actors will be directed by Akiyuki Shinbo and produced by Shaft."

Something I've discovered.

One of my mostly anticipated series for the year, from the songs to the Manga, everything has been epic. Now they throw in Shaft with Akiyuki and it's mostly bound to be a masterpiece. Really wondering how it will turn out, with Jin writing the script and all.

Yo, see that? Songs->novels/mange->anime?

Not exactly the same path as Black Rock Shooter, but it's close enough that I noticed and said something. ^_^

I'm getting a Blood Lad vibe from this show. Not action wise but animation and setting.

I wouldn't focus on that too much, because Mekaku City/Kagepro really isn't about a HikiNEET at all. That's the description they threw on there, because like shows like DRRR, it's really hard to describe exactly what it is without giving it all away. Shintaro is far from being the "main" main character.

Ughiehafio I'm actually really worried about this adaption. I love the Kage Pro series. I was completely skeptical at first that Jin could pull together such a bizarre cast into a coherent story line, but not only did he do it, he created like, a ton of different versions on the day to day events that happen.

I know I shouldn't be worried, because Jin's still handling script and music and it's Shaft for goodness' sake, but guhhhh I wish so much that the anime's character designs were based on Shidu's art. That's mostly the thing that bothers me. OTL The whole "separate charm" factor that's so vague, that makes me worry about what the show will bring.
