That was really good, looking forward to next week with just as high expectations.

SHAFT is awesome.

The Adventures of HikiNEET Araragi in Akiyuki Shinbo's Wonderland.

Kind of sad it wasn't better, but I'll keep watching. Shinbo's starting to piss me off though.

3/5, best part was in the ED.

ditto, I don't understand why this show was hyped so much

I mean, everything looked pretty but what actually happened in the episode

And the computer girl thing was super annoying

......... What am I suppose to say to this? The episode was just.... "wtf?" I felt like I watched an episode of FLCL.

I guess I can say that the art style is very good. Shaft is quite talented at making abstract art (Nisekoi is a perfect example), so I loved that.

Though I have no fucking clue what was going on. The main character is a total recluse and I hate that, but it seems like he can get better.

I love the blue AI girl, she's great! I'm just wondering what the hell is up with all the people with the red eyes and what not. I hope this somewhat explained next episode.

My interest is definitely spiked, but I hope they don't just leave us in the dark for too long.

I wasn't blown away. If this was 2009 it would be original but it all feels somehow like stuff I've seen and heard before for the most part. I will likely keep watching but I was worried about this one and I was right to be worried. Nisekoi looks a lot better by comparison.

Which is really sad! I was already disappointed with how Nisekoi looked, and now this.

I was hoping for another Bakemonogatari or Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica in terms of visuals.

I would have to agree. I feel like we've "been there done that" with the shut-in main character and then some mysterious friend that helps him out.

Nisekoi is definitely superior as of now, but it's been one episode so we got to give it more time to shine. But I wasn't very impressed with the first episode.

Am I the only one for which the Depyramid button destroys stuff? Should that even be showing up? I'm not a mod but that button shows up everywhere...

Part of what I'd originally said before Depyramid destroyed it: Saturday is a pretty full day. Could be forgotten. Just isn't drawing me in or giving me a reason to care about the zillion characters they still have to introduce.

Isn't that SHAFT in a nutshell? Just being honest lol

It's because we have baggage.

Akiyuki Shinbo and SHAFT have a very distinctive style, but this is (visually) far below things they've done in the past.

So it's just a bit disappointing when my hopes were fairly high going into this.

Well, they certainly have a style but this one feels more like 2009 than Nisekoi.

I am in fact a SHAFT fan. I love ef - tale of memories, adore the TV Series of Madoka Magica though the movies aren't my favorite, and I love, Love, LOVE the whole Monogatari series. But it does feel like they don't have anything new to do, visually.

I didn't actually hype myself up on this one so it wasn't a case of expecting too much. May just not be for me.

But if you like it, enjoy it! This is just me...

Oh I agree. I liked this first episode but putting it on Saturday was a mistake. Saturday is already packed and this appears to be a divisive show already. On a day where all the people on the fence can easily say, "I'll just watch something else" it just doesn't fit. Not to mention by being on Saturday it'll be clashing with SHAFT's OTHER shows that people already like.

This should have been a Monday, Tuesday, or Friday show. Those days have so few stuff airing that this show could have easily found an audience. Now it'll be fighting for a niche group of viewers.

Yeah, it shall be interesting(I'm more or less a SHAFT noob as well, I haven't seen most of their big name shows of the past).
