Yea. I agree. I did the same thing. And I really don't want to do that each week.

Japanese is annoyingly minimalistic at times and you have to guess things from context. Often they leave off the pronouns at the front and the verbs at the back. In this case with the pronoun missing it is easy to get wrong but if you watch the show then the context tells you. I suspect the bad subs were done by multiple people, one transcribing the Japanese and another translating it into English without seeing the actual anime which caused them to miss the context, perhaps it was translated by google translate which also notoriously gets the missing pronouns backwards, changing you into I or them and vice versa.

That makes sense. I was actually just reading about pro-drop languages and Japanese grammar a couple days ago, randomly. The whole concept is fascinating (and terrifyingly abstract in my English-coded brain).

Off Topic: I just now noticed that your avatar is Saki, and for whatever reason it made me a little misty. Good show, good freaking show.

I love Saki and I love SSY. Great novel too.

Japanese sentences are often boiled down to a single word which is indeed rather confusing for an English brain. The first time I was in Japan people asked me, "Kochira?" That means simply, "Which?" And I was thinking, "Which what????" They were asking where I was from... Not "Doko?" "Where"? but "Kochira?" "Which?" "Which place did you come from?" Of course that's what you meant...

And it can be anything, a noun, an non conjugated adjective. My favorite is "kimochi", "feeling" with nothing at all about the feeling, it is assumed to be a good feeling while "Nioi..." "smell", always assumed to be a bad smell, like "what's that smell???" While "kaori" also smell but more like "aroma" is assumed to be a good aroma when used alone; when used in more of a sentence their meaning becomes more similar like a smell or scent, with more words around them they are more generic in meaning rather than more specific.

Pro drop is bad enough but verb drop can be even worse. The last sentence of the SSY novel ends on a particle, the verb is assumed! But without the verb you don't know if it is positive or negative, it is assumed.

So with both removed, "days of youth" said to a special someone in high school means "I want to spend the days of my youth with you." Hopefully... easy to get wrong LOL

High school slang in anime is terrible as well. If all you learn is proper Japanese then it is like they're speaking another language, or at least a completely different dialect.

Just watched the first episode, I found it interesting except having to watch it somewhere else. Too many hiccups, nonetheless it's something I'll still watch.

I wish it was airing somewhere legally, and I'm still holding out on CR licensing it.

Funimation has this show. No wonder it took so long to get this announced since Funi had it all along. But I was surprised that they decided to wait until now to announce it rather than sometime last week. Anyway, I will watch the first episode again once it is out.

Too bad Funi got it, no chance at shared simcast I think.

Oddly enough there has been very few shared simulcasts this season. I can't even think of any shared simulcasts in the US this season.

Not a huge fan of Funisubs. I'll take fan subs instead, if any group wants to sub.

It's already out there in the wild, to my knowledge. Dunno where though, cause I'm not interested in the show at all.

After watching the first episode, it was pretty interesting. Also, Haru seems to be keeping something secret saying something about "not hating" her if she found out something. Somewhere along those lines. Guess, I will give it a few more episodes before I decide. Seems to be a character centric show. That being said, I haven't read the material before hand to know if we get backgrounds of all the characters.

I missed FUNi getting this, they were more worried about announcing their One Piece and Fairy Tail side stuff (not even part of this seasons stuff) it seemed more than announcing this show, or I just missed it, dunno.

Will catch this show tomorrow when I am actually awake, how is it so far though? All I know about this show is something about assassins and Yuri.
