Just picked up my copy, was wondering if anyone else has it so we share tips and stuff we find. Feel free to add me.

Wish I had a ps3 or PC to play it, but stuck with xbrick.

My gt is Sacred Blood 77

I got my copy earlier today. Loaded it up only to find the server was down, so I can't play online just yet.

What play style have you gone with? I'm giving dual wielding a try, which is completely different from the tank build I had in the first game. No shield means I'm having to try and dodge everything, which is taking a bit of getting used to.

Yes servers are awful right now.

I went with dual wield also, and I have to say the more I play with it the more stressful it is. If you make a mistake and roll the wrong way you can't just raise your shield and save yourself. And if you get hacked into a wall or corner all you can do is span attack and hope you get the enemy stun locked.

Although the damage outfit is amazing, LT with double falchions in power stance makes both swords hit at the exact same time, so basically x2 damage in a single strike. Kills most things in 1-2 hits.

Lemme know if you have any questions, been playing a decent while. Not past first play through though, some of the bosses seem near impossible without help. Might just be dual wielding though.

I've been playing around with duel wielding the caestus. It seems to be a pretty legit weapon for 1v1 pvp. It scales nicely with strength and has a quick combo attack that can easily interrupt a opponents attack pattern.

It's also insanely fun to put on heavy armor and the blue tearstone ring combined with the ring that breaks enemies poise and slow walk towards them, shrugging off all you opponents hits and devastating them with combo after combo. I've used this style against other tank builds and I've always come out on top. (doesn't really do well against ranged attacks because my defense plan for this build is blocking it with my face...)

I know that two handing a falchion and stun locking people seems to be a favorite thing to do among many dark souls 1 players but in this game it feels like all the weapons are so diverse and balanced that you could pretty much use any weapon you want in pvp and you will always get an epic fight.

My GT is the same as my CR id. but I'm playing on the ps3

Xbox 360 servers are so bad haven't been able to get invaded/invade anyone yet, and i'm having the hardest time using dual wield against a good amount of the bosses. Stuck on Scorpion lady, Ruin Sentinals, and Snake Lady. And i'd break down and summon a phantom, but I have no Effigies, and even if I did the servers are down for like 75% of the day lol.

Finally beat Ruin Sentinals, what a pain in the ass without the phantom summon.

Oh man, that's where I'm up to. They were destroying me, so I decided to do some optional areas in the hopes of calming the rage leveling up a bit more. Did you kill the first one on the ledge you land on, or just go for all three at the same time on the floor?

Edit: Just realised I never posted my gamertag. "xNeuth". It's terrible, I hate it, gotta change it one of these days.

I stayed on the ledge, and after I killed the first one I stayed up there until the other two jumped up. I tanked them both ( gave in and used a shield with 100% phis res ) while I waited for the perfect times to strike, got one to 1/4 then got knocked off. A lot more room to maneuver down there, but they do 2 more annoying attacks that they don't on the ledge.

If you're going to use a shield, all it takes is patience to win, if not, good luck lol. May the rolling gods be on your side.

I got a good amount farther today, got my first old soul. So ask if you have anymore questions.

Tips:
Don't give up, no matter how hopeless it seems :P
Get a bow, always a good thing to have on your first playthrough. In case you meet a boss like O&S :P

To slide down a ladder, first start moving down and then press the button you used for sliding down in DS1. If you just click that button, you will just fall.

The AI is smarter in this game ;-)
They might not walk off the edge as much as they did in DS1 hehe.

I've just watched MrSketchead play the game, can't afford these nice things atm.

Earthen Peak, right after you kill the mini boss (three undead priest). The hard part about the fight is the hit box is so small and the spiders keep coming............... Also I heard Iron Keep is pretty high lvl area, lol.

Yea, I'm a little under leveled for Iron Keep. All the enemies do like 1/5 my health with one attack.
