Lurking on the forums, it has come to my attention, that, a lot of users in particular really, really like this (Toradora) anime. While this is not a favorite of mine, it is by no means a bad anime, in fact, it is a better anime to have watched.

And so... I have to wonder. What makes this anime really, really liked by "you"?

I am so glad they are getting a dub out for the anime! I've rewatched it to many times it's just so good. Not only that but the English cast is pretty much an all-star cast which is what this anime deserves!!!

I knew this was going to happen. Once NISA said that they were considering dubs, I knew that this would be the title they would do it for, not to mention it was originally released before a BD and an OVA was released in Japan. I'm glad that I held off buying when it first came out.

And as soon as I can, I'm going to pre-order it. This is the best news I've heard so far this year. $130 may be a bit high priced, but I'm sure that won't stop me from buying it.

Shall I count the reasons? No...I have not time. Perhaps I can sum it up by saying I find the characters to be deep and well-developed, the story to touch on a number of emotions and situations that are relevant to pretty much anyone, and the pure nature of the love that develops between Ryujii and Taiga to be one of the most beautiful things I've seen in any screen or print media.

As for the BD/DVD re-release, holy $*@% those prices. Yes, I realize that they are probably pretty par for the course, but I got my current set of DVDs for under $60.

I don't really care about the dub, as I already love the voice work in the Japanese original. If I had a BD player, I might be interested in the BD set, but I don't, so other than the fact that I love the series and hope it can get more exposure, I don't really care too much.

Does NIS typically do dubs? I thought I had heard somewhere that they don't usually.

So the premium edition is $130, and the standard edition is $60 + $60? That's... odd.

Character dynamics, Ryuji being a white knight (who I liked instantly), Taiga being a tsundere, and the emotional moments.

Excellent news! I've been wanting this on Blu-ray, even though it is only an upconverted video and not a true remaster, and the dub is a nice touch too. Now to go sell the sub only DVDs I have...

Wait? Are you telling me it doesn't have a dub yet? IF I bought the DvD's they'd be Sub's only?
I think I knew that, but the very idea always surprises me.

Indeed it's a decent anime, and I've got my own strong points list about it.

The Protagonist's all manage to perfect their Generic Molds, which is odd. To put it into bad analogy mode, it's like making Pizza out of professional ingredients in an Ez-bake oven.

The primary relationship is especially engrossing to me, the entire show just shoves them together every second of every scene, so the audience is able to experience the growing relationship along with the characters. That's just smart. The opening moments of the show just says "Yeah, that's happening. Just sit there and watch how" and hooks you with it's witty dialogue, decent animation, and totally cliche yet well-done plot.

All I need is Dennu Coil, and BAMN. Shows that I saw waaay back in 07 or 08 or something that should've been dub'ed but haven't yet list is nearly complete.

Until Toradora, all NIS America anime releases were subtitled only.

I still think JYB should have been Ryuuji.. I've been saying that since Toradora originally aired in Japan. zz. It would have been better if they hadn't cast him at all, it's frustrating that's he's there, but is Kitamura, instead.. lol..
