Given how much I enjoyed Toradora, and despite my dislike for most tsunderes, didn't mind Taiga, I sincerely hope the dub is good.

While I did understand the appeal, unlike some other shows (Madoka), this show almost bored me to death. It was my first romantic anime and thanks to that I refused to watch anything romance-heavy for 3-4 years. Just wasn't for me really.

Out of curiosity, what romance shows did you like, if there are any? (I am mostly talking about shows with a similar target audience)

Thanks for the info. Well, time to get some money~ Now that's two BDs I'm buying, counting Madoka Rebellion. (I don't usually bother buying DVDs/BDs, I like using what little money I get to buy things I can't get for free... >__>)

I watched Toradora for the first time last year and I wanted to buy it, but I held out hoping for this very blu-ray release. The English dub is an unexpected extra

Sadly, I bought my 2 standard edition DVDs just this past Christmas, but you can bet I'll be buying this. I can always use my standard edition for lending. Also, does anyone know how long a company like NIS will offer the premium edition? Or is that indefinite?

Lurking on the forums, it has come to my attention, that, a lot of users in particular really, really like this (Toradora) anime. While this is not a favorite of mine, it is by no means a bad anime, in fact, it is a better anime to have watched.

And so... I have to wonder. What makes this anime really, really liked by "you"?

It is really funny and also manages some pretty heavy feels. The characters are all wonderfully flawed and not the typical two dimensional ones that we normally get. The pacing and direction of the adaptation is really good, as is the voice acting. It's a nice balance of drama, romance, and comedy. That balance is the thing that elevates an anime for me. I've watched a number of good comedies or dramas, but if a show manages to really nail multiple elements like that, I will think it's special

Usually once it sells out that's it for NISA PE sets, then it is SE or bust. Occasionally, NISA will do a second print run of a PE set if demand is sufficient, but not always. IIRC, the DVD PE set 1 and 2 of Toradora! sold out really quickly after the release date, so I would not wait very long if you want to guarantee the PE Blu-ray set.

That's really helpful info. Thanks for that. Looks like I'll have to scrape some money together quick.. Or settle for the regular BDs.
