That's really helpful info. Thanks for that. Looks like I'll have to scrape some money together quick.. Or settle for the regular BDs.

If you pre-order now with a credit/debit card, then you don't have to pay until your order ships. NISA would likely not have the PE set out to retailers to ship until late June at the earliest. So, if you can save up for the PE set by early June, then you should be fine to put in a pre-order. You can always cancel your pre-order if you know in advance you will not have enough as well.

While I did understand the appeal, unlike some other shows (Madoka), this show almost bored me to death. It was my first romantic anime and thanks to that I refused to watch anything romance-heavy for 3-4 years. Just wasn't for me really.

Out of curiosity, what romance shows did you like, if there are any? (I am mostly talking about shows with a similar target audience)

Honestly, the only one I can think of is Kids on the Slope. I mostly enjoyed it because of the music, characters, setting and a few 60s references.

I've also enjoyed romantic comedies like To Love-Ru, Rosario + Vampire, Ranma 1/2 and Baka & Test. But I don't think these really count as romance anime and if they do, I don't view them as such. The heavy comedy is the main I enjoyed these shows. Toradora only made me laugh a few times (mostly giggles).

The reason I even watched Toradora was because, at the time, I was watching Gintama and thought it was really funny so I searched something like ''best comedy anime'' and Toradora was 2nd on a poll I found (Gintama was 1st). So at first, I was like ''this must be some pretty funny stuff to be second only to Gintama''. So being drunk on slapstick Gintama-level comedy, I decided to watch this show. Needless to say, it wasn't what I expected. I really thought the story was good and the characters were interesting, but it just wasn't for me.

Basically, having watched Toradora early in my anime years made me realize that I wasn't a romance fan. Which is why I don't think I'll ever watch shows like Clannad or Kimi no Todoke (and so 95% shojos by default).

I don't say this often since i'm not a huge dub fan. I think their voices are nearly perfect. I might actually enjoy this one as a dub.

Ryuuji's voice is the only one I have an issue with, but I really like the female voice overs. I haven't really come to a decision on the voice actor, Erik Kimerer who is doing his voice.

He was good as Alibaba in Magi, but his voice over for Haruyuki in Accel World was (in my opinion) too whiny and it got annoying. Since I don't count Accel World's romance as too convincing, I am actually looking forward to seeing how his voice over will sound in a pure romantic comedy setting.

I personally love Toradora! I felt as though it didn't need an English Dub with the sub being very good. However, as a die hard fan of the show I will watch the dub and probably enjoy it regardless.

Just watched the trailer for the new dub and I must say it seems rather decent. No full comment until I've fully watched the show though. Being that I've already preordered it, I'll just have to be patient till it's released.

I can't say that I'm the biggest fan of the dub judging on that trailer. It just seemed to be lacking in emotion and I'm not a huge fan of the casting. I guess I'm not really the target audience though as I usually prefer subs...

I loved Kids on the Slope for its musical aspects and its characters but I found the plot severely lacking, possibly because it was rushed. All the development just happened too quickly and it felt a little too melodramatic, at least in my opinion. Even still, some of the scenes in that show rank among my favorites of all time...

I can see what you mean about the humor in Toradora!...you really have to fall in love with the show to be drawn into its humor and even then, its much more of a romance (or at least, character based drama) than a comedy.

I love dubs and subs, but I am right there with you. That trailer made me nervous. Why do the characters sound so awkward? I hope the cast pulls it together, because I love this series, and the VA's definitely have the potential to do a way better job than what I just heard. Cassandra Lee Morris (Ritsu from K-ON, Leafa from SAO) is an interesting choice for Taiga. The same goes for Kimerer (Haru from Accel World) as Ryuji. I have never heard either of them play roles remotely similar to what they are going to do for Toradora.

Trailer aside, I am really excited for this. The cast list is interesting and I am excited to see how they voice this series. The sub was amazing, and this is one of my favorite series, so my expectations are really high. The wait from July 1 to whenever it arrives on my doorstep is going to be agonizing.

When I read this this morning I did a very silent happy dance… (I’m at work)
So happy it’s finally getting a dub, hopefully NIS does a good job of it.

From what I'd seen in the trailer, I'm not saying the dubs are bad or anything but after years of watching it in sub it just doesn't sound right. I really like Taiga Japanese voice actress. Maybe I'll get use to it.

Oh God, watching Toradora years ago was quite an experience. I think this was the first anime I marathoned in a single day. Good times, good times...

I thought it was good yet that is MY personal opinion after all.

My thoughts on the dub is that I'm just going to have next to none expectations so that I don't get disappointed in the end. Though I'm really happy. it's great that people, who refuse to watch anything not in English or other reason, will have a chance to experience this series
