Kill la Kill is my second favorite anime right now. It is so absolutely amazing that I can't begin to describe it. The show has a lot of interesting plot twists every episode and the plot becomes very interesting.

The premise is actually a lot deeper and darker than it looks at first glance, and I feel bad for the people who accidentally miss the show because they think it's just fanservice.

This show really utilizes the idea of clothes very well, and it's trigger first full length anime series, so this is a nice treat.

Kill la Kill is the most original anime to come out in a long ass time. Which is funny considering it is a tribute to Go Nagai's body of work and other old school action series, and on top of that checks damn near every action anime trope with much gusto.

It's your choice to watch it or not. You won't learn much from others because no one knows exactly what you like and how you would react.
For me, it's one of the best anime to come out in a long time with a great combo of genres.

You suggested that Golden Time and that other thing are more your taste, so with that little information I'd suggest not to watch it. It is extremely different from a slice of life show and far more lively. It's meant for those who don't like the mundane.

Yes. That's all I need to say on the matter!

It's popular for a reason.

Or those who like both

I agree that if something like Golden Time is particularly someone's taste and they mostly don't care for things too different from that, KLK is not a good choice.

However, I like both Golden Time (and things that are even more mundane) and KLK. In fact, I'd say that I enjoyed KLK more, even though quite often I'd probably prefer a moderately well-done slice of life show to a moderately well-done action show. In this case though, Golden Time is somewhat more than moderately well-done, but KLK transcends the "action" genre and is tops at what it is doing.

I've been wondering about this show too. Looked interesting, but I had heard others say it didn't have much depth to it, but it seems like that changes early on. Looks like it's about to finish too, so that will be a good time to marathon it. Thanks!

If you do pick to watch it make sure you give it a chance. I bailed after the 3rd or 4th episode then picked it back up like a month later and am happy with my decision.

I personally think that its worth a watch. Kill La Kill, at first glance is just an anime with a lot of action and fanservice. There are characters who can be funny or annoying, and badass or unlikable. If you're into slice of life anime with no real dark or sexual themes, you won't like this anime. Kill La Kill has at least some kind of nudity or fight in an episode, and one of the recent episodes just threw subtlety out the window. But, if you're like me and don't care about nudity and sexual themes, and like/ can tolerate the action, you'll probably like this anime. Emphasis on 'probably'.

If you want a good plot, you should either watch and tolerate the story, or just leave it all together. They don't really do anything with plot until later episodes. As for turning you're brain off, its kinda true. The thing is, if you live with someone, you might want to keep an eye on that door or listen for the door opening. Otherwise, get ready for action and nudity. Also for bashes against its writing, as i stated before the early episodes are really just action and nudity.

Like the others said, might be better to watch at least an episode, but I'll tell you that when I tried to watch it, after 5 minutes my head was on the verge of imploding because the drawing style was so.. unique, stil I thought it wasn't polite to drop an anime that I didn't even knew what the story was about after 5 minutes, I kept watching until the 18th minute then I couldn't take it anymore, even though I really thought it was interesting. If it was produced by A-1 Pictures it could be great (think of it in the same style as Fairy Tail) most likely, but this is just my personal PoV, if you don't mind the style then KLK is probably enjoyable.

I would just try 2-3 episodes to see if you get into it. If the first three episodes don't make you interested then you should probably just avoid it. because I think the first 3 episodes are the best.
