Everyone talks about wasting time, but you are always wasting time you can't gain time. You mean be more productive, but even then you watch anime when you are in the mood to do nothing of actual value except be entertained. The biggest waste of time is doing nothing at all. I would rather watch pointless anime(though some can teach you some pretty great things) then just sit around looking at nothing all day.

You people remind me of Draconismarch the famous elitist in the internet.

the only anime that waste your time is all shounen anime with more than 100 episodes.
the only anime that waste my time is NOTHING.

Attack on Titan wasted something like 20 episodes of my time, because only 5 episodes were worth watching.

Beyond the Boundary is currently a waste of time, imo, cause the ending ultimately makes everything before it pointless.

Every anime you don't like is a waste of your time, plain and simple. This thread should be renamed to "which anime do you not like?" Because that's what we're asking here.

Also the OP stopped watching Kill La Kill at episode 10. Not nearly enough to appreciate the badassery that is that show.

Same with Log Horizon. The main plot doesn't even start until then, really. It's still in the infancy at that point where they are introducing characters and getting the full roster.

This is a fairly ridiculous proposition.

If 10 episodes isn't enough time to figure out if you like an anime or not whoever made it should be fired.

Well, sometimes I feel like it takes time to get into a show. I didn't really like some of my favorite shows until I watched a decent amount. Hunter x Hunter is my favorite ever, but it wasn't until episode 8 or so that I really started to get into it. Some people just don't hype like mad right away.

Really? I really enjoyed all of the episodes when they were trying to capture the female Titan.

Can't say that i've ever seen an anime that I can legitimately claim was nothing but a waste of time. I can get something out of almost any series. I could prattle off a list of shows I don't like and somehow justify them as a waste of time - but that would just be personal opinion and say nothing of the show itself. In essence, I would reduce the thread to "anime you didn't enjoy" - which i've covered elsewhere.

So there's no anime I can claim that is a waste of time in and of itself.

I can imagine it happening, and it might even be applicable here since I can't get inside the other poster's head to really check. But I think what happens in the second halves of Log Horizon and Kill La Kill is like to only be appreciated by people who also found the first halves worth appreciating. But... yeah, I guess I can't completely rule it out.

It would be fair to make an exception for long shounen titles as well, which I hadn't thought of, just because those stories can take some time to find their feet due to their development process (Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood being another example, it didn't really "click" for me until episode 9). But I wouldn't extend that excuse to a seasonal show.

And I'd probably add a caveat for shows with exceptional endings, like Code Geass.

But there's no way of knowing if Log Horizon or Kill La Kill belong in that class yet.

Edit: Also, I'd be hesitant to tell someone to push their way though something when they're not into it, just because it could sour an experience they otherwise could've just postponed to some time in the future instead. I put Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann off for years, and was better off for it. If I'd forced myself earlier I wouldn't have liked it nearly as much.
