I had a Hulu account for the trial period and was not happy with the service I received. I will not pay money for that crap. CR is way, way, way better and Netflix supplements the dubbed shows that CR does not offer. If I want to watch something CR does not have, I can visit a streaming site. If I like the series, I will buy it on DVD and finish the series. If I hate it, great! I just saved some money without supporting the atrocity that is Hulu...

I wish I could use Hulu, but I can't because of the country I live in, so I stick with Crunchyroll. It doesn't have a lot of the time I'd like to see, but that's alright. I don't have to deal with ads and I don't even have a membership, so it's a good deal.

I guess must be the only one that would use illegal sites outside of Crunchyroll.....oh well.

Oh, you're not. I use them so often that sometimes I forget they're illegal.

I only watch Hulu for shows I can't get on CR or Netflix. PAYING for Hulu is a waste - you still get commercials. There is basically little or no difference in Hulu paid or free if you only watch anime. If you watch movies & such then there are some I think you can only get on Hulu premium. But I'd rather download illegals than pay for commercials.

shhhh...

since one piece is here now, and CR is getting the whole series. Hulu really can't hold a candle to CR. that's my two cents

I've never had Hulu plus (nor do I intend to). The reason is the same reason why I canceled Netflix - the amount of stuff I actually want to watch is dwarfed by huge and rapidly increasing catalogs of stuff I don't care about in the slightest. I still watch some anime on hulu, mind you, but as someone said, its mainly stuff that CR doesn't get.

I prefer to subscribe to Crunchyroll because its a dedicated site for eastern entertainment. Hulu is just a hodgepodge of everything that happens to have selection of eastern entertainment. Plus, as others have said, the adds are rather annoying. Additionally, a lot of the anime they do have on there is stuff i'm not too interested in anyway. They have an awesome catalog, but its just not stuff i'm personally into (just a preference claim).

I'd recommend CR, but really, it doesn't matter. Hulu's probably far better if you're interested in watching other, non-anime stuff as well. Or if they just have a lot of stuff you're interested in.

I want to make something clear, Hulu does not and will never have more anime than CR. It doesn't even have half as many selections as CR does.

Additionally, CR has been legitimately providing anime as long as Hulu has existed--though it's focus on Asian culture. If anime is what you love and you want the best, CR is your best option. Funimation, of course, for some of the items CR doesn't get. (Though frankly, supporting Funimation isn't something I advocate generally...)

I use both services since I watch to watch both anime and American TV shows. Also pretty sure Hulu does not have more anime than CR...

Hulu already has all the episodes to one piece up to date, Also comparing hulu to crunchyroll is pointless heres why
Crunchyroll:
Pros:
1. On going anime episodes with premium, non members watch 1 week after.
2. No ads with premium.
3. Streams in full hd.
Cons:
1. The worst streaming customer service.
2. Has severe streaming issues when compared to competitors.
3. Going months with out updating major devices such as ps3/ps4.
4. False advertising( Come on to a certain extent this is true)

Hulu plus:
Pros:
1. Streams in hd.
2. Available on a lot of devices.
3. Streaming is near flawless, unless you have dial up.
4. When using other applications has the ability to ADJUST to your internet connection and play.
5. For anime: Ova's, movies, special episodes.
6. English dub and sub whenever available.
Cons:
1. Has advertisements 2-3 ads per ad block depending.
2. Cost $1 dollar more than crunchyroll.
3. Doesn't have nearly as much simulcast titles to start off with each season like crunchyroll.

As you can see I didn't favor a side really in my breakdown this is just how it is for right now, and take into consideration this breakdown is made from a streaming point of view, so don't bring up "Oh well crunchyroll has a forum and hulu don't" nope that doesn't matter at all lol.

Also hulu plus has just as much anime as crunchyroll or more trust me, I was using the ps4 app and it goes on for awhile, the crunchyroll list seemed a little short compared to both overall shows.

I don't use hulu for the simple fact that it has ads. I'm perfectly willing to pay if there was an ad-free option, but many times I tend to watch several episodes at once, and with ads it's a total momentum-killer.

crunchyroll terrible customer service

Sadly, I do have to admit I once had a problem and contacted support. They never responded.

Regarding Hulu or CR. I refuse to support Hulu due to their adds even for paying members. That said, I am disappointed by the scant anime options found on CR. I hope they'll license a ton more shows.

why not both? I am subscribed to both services and I am completely happy to watch anime on Hulu that Crunchyroll does not have but i if they give me the option ill go to Crunchyroll to not get ads. the ads still are not a big deal to though but hey sometimes they have some interesting ones.
