Transitioning from anime like KLK, NagiAsu, SamFlam and Golden time to this is SO WEIRD! because those were so crazy and Mushi-shi is like the most chill anime ever made.

Anyway I quite enjoyed the first episode, very nostalgic. I think it was a pretty good opening episode to what I think will be a great season. It didn't really start of with a bang but Mushi-shi was never that kind of show anyway so I'm glad they didn't sacrifice what made Mushi-shi what it is just to bring in a new audience or appeal to a younger crowd.

I also liked the OP. It doesn't beat the first one but its still a pretty good song and fits the tone of the show very well so I think its a good replacement.

Now that was the Mushi-Shi I remember seeing all those years ago. Great opening episode. Surprised they started off with an episode where Ginko was neither the narrator nor the central figure to the story. I know there were multiple episodes like that in season 1, just amazed they start season 2 like that after such a long hiatus. You'd think they would do a Ginko focused episode the first one.

^ ah, but the first season didn't open with Ginko either, he came a little later into the episode. So I guess it kind of fits. ^^

thanks for the youtube link, Stark! Hope it is on iTunes/Amazon because I will probably want to buy it later lol.

I think its a good way to introduce to new comers to the series who may have not seen season 1 yet that this show really isn't about Ginko, its about the mushi and the people that he helps

YEah ... I think so too.Its actually a nice intro to those folks via a sake.

But this time , this episode showed that there are more Mushi-shi out there.

I really loved this series although other people think its boring. The art is so beautiful and the story telling simple but captivating.

I actually met kantoku Nagahama sensei twice and he was a very nice to his fans and I recognized him for his work with Mushishi and got my art box signed by him.

Beautiful work.

But as for Nakano, who is the voice of Ginko. I keep thinking his voice was just a tad lower before but I always find his delivery of his lines a lot different from other seiyuu becuase I dont think he is actually a seiyuu first.Sometimes some anime movie has a haiyuu for the lead character, and I noticed they seem to have similar style of speech pattern .There are a few new seiyuu who has that speech pattern too.Its sounds very natural.

He does not have a lot of seiyuu roles since 2004.

I think I'm going to go watch the first season before diving into this one. I'm sure this will be a touchy topic, but how good is the dub? Is it worth watching over the sub? Is there anything really lost when watching dub and not sub?

I don't know personally, but apparently it's quite good:

I love the dub as well. Travis did an awesome job!

The only problem I think would be transitioning to the sub for the OVA and second season.

Ahh.... That is a good point. Perhaps I'll go for the Sub this time around, then. Shame, though, I usually like watching dubs when they're good, and I doubt I have the time/patience to watch any show twice for dub/sub differences. >_>

I wonder how long it'll take for CR to get season 1 like they did with Chuunibyo.

The dub is awesome for the first season. But, if you want to watch this you should get used to the Japanese until/if the second season ever gets a dub.

I love this series and was delighted to see the same feel extended into the OVA and season 2. I'm so happy right now.

Damn that was a great episode.

I honestly didn't expect them to literally show the sea stained with Mina's mom's blood, though.

And yeah like last week we end on a gorgeous scene. If that's going to be the theme this season, I'm all for it.

I might put this on hold. I think it's much more engaging to marathon in sprints than to watch weekly.
