I'm having a hard time believing any of this can amount to something interesting. It's pretty haphazard.

I'll see what it's like next week I guess.

That about sums it up for me. I might just read a synopsis after the fact to find out why Aika is in this anime.

I'm right there. I wouldn't say I find it more annoying than intriguing.. the setting and plot are intriguing, but the characters are annoying. or at least most of them are. the only ones I don't have a problem with are Raika and Iwato.

Episode 3

This episode felt slow tbh. Well, there's a new girl named Sasame introduced that I don't really find appealing, at first anyways. Seems like Akashi might know her from the past in some apocalyptic like world.

I also noticed a strange mecha in the background during his flashback/vision or whatever it is. I think Sasame might be pivotal to the future or some significant event. I swear though...this show better develop some of its characters soon. It's a 2 cour show so there should be room for that.

This show is just weird. I really don't know what to think about it. I'm definitely interested enough to keep on going, but it doesn't really go into detail about anything. The world is still kind of mystery and we haven't learn a thing about the characters.

The OP is really good though.

I'm kind of on the same page as you.

Sasame definitely has a connection to the black monsters and that mysterious mech seemed like it could also be one of those black monsters.

And, jesus, you're right! It's set out for 24 episodes! It's going to be long ride judging by how the show is progressing right now.

Well, this story just got more intriguing all of a sudden, for me at least. Were their memories guiding them? Or were they somehow communicating across space and time? Either way, I'm curious to see how that event in their past ties into everything, especially since it keeps coming up.

Up until now, I had assumed Heito was just a typical nutcase character, but it seems like he's much worse off than that. It looks like too much exposure to the Reaper and/or the lightless realm (whatever it may be) has corrupted his mind to the point where he's kind of addicted to "terror" or whatever it is that makes those things what they are, even the relatively small trace of it that's infecting Emiru. That last scene was painful to watch. I think that's the first time I've actually felt bad for her.

This series had my interest, now it has my attention.

This whole reveal of their powers intrigues me. Did they perhaps meet in the Lightless Realm somewhere in the past, I wonder?

Also Heito for most creepy psycho award this season.

Weren't they all the kids that are shown in the beginning when the realm is closing in? Now they're much older, perhaps they don't realize or remember that they were together there. That's my impression.

I agree though. The first episode wasn't great, 2 wasn't too hot either but 3-4 have really picked up.

I'm thinking that they were somehow able to escape the lightless realm, and the 'government' discovered this and want to send them back in an attempt to stop the realm's continuous, but seemingly glacial advance seeing as they're about the only one's they think that'll be even remotely successful.

As to crazy boy, I think he managed to escape by himself, but he didn't share the same 'telepathic' link or whatever.

Judging by the quasi-flashbacks so far though, I don't think they were physically finding each other in the realm though, but somehow did it by psychic (seeing as the show is definitely going to go towards a psychological mind fuck slant) means. I say psychic because judging at least by the bits and pieces we've seen of the lightless realm so far, it seems to be more or less structurally intact at least.

Episode 5

Interesting. They have a connection because of their experience with the lightless realm, therefore they have special communication powers. I like the idea.

Any rate, I have to say that Emiru has grown on me. I feel for her, and I'm totally hoping we get Akashi X Emiru. The two seem to match very well.

Speaking of Akashi, he's totally messed up. Why the hell would he want his whole family to die? Was it because he was jealous? He's totally screwed up and kind of evil for thinking that way.

I couldn't really tell if he still thinks that way or if he regrets it. Nonetheless, he's got some issues.

Things certainly turned south for Emiru pretty quickly. I have to wonder whether Heito or that corruption (or whatever it is) is worse for her; considering what happens at the end of the episode, that says a lot about Heito.

The pairing thing is certainly interesting, especially that comment about Akashi's partner not being human. It seems like there might actually be some truth to that. I'm actually not too surprised to learn how Akashi felt about his family. It was clear that Akashi was kind of messed up in his own way, and his attitude toward his family explains his current personality. I don't think he regrets thinking that way, but it does seem like he's aware of how messed up he is. Part of me thinks he could benefit from getting closer to Emiru and vice versa, but if that does happen, she'll probably just be tragically killed off when he needs her the most, so maybe they shouldn't get too close.

Is anyone still watching this??

So my wild speculation after watching Episode 7, the Secret that was whispered in the rain is something to the tune of, "they are all corpses themselves or something.

I am. I think it is enjoyable. I don't understand why more people aren't watching it.
