Well it was a decent anime. For some reason and I don't know why, but it reminded me of Grandia, the first one. God I wish they had made an anime of that, that would have been one of the best shounen animes of all time if they did.

The only Grandia I played is III which of course people say is the worse one. Which tends to be my jrpg luck.

Grandia III has the worst story, It's story is very serious and very linear in comparison to the other Grandias, and that is its problem. In Grandia III pretty much right from the get go you know who your enemy is and what you need to do to defeat them and your journey focuses just on that, There is very little room to play around.

Grandia II is good. It kind of reminds me of Final Fantasy 7 to tell you the truth. Subtle love triangle, Sephiroth type character, gloomy-ish merc main character. Yeah, definitely modeled after FF7.

Grandia I though, oh Grandia I is just sooo much fun. It's like if you took all the awesome 80s-90s adventure animes, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, Magic Knight Rayearth, Dragon Ball (not DBZ), Haou Taikei Ryu Knight, and just combined them into one awesome adventure RPG. It has ancient Incan Ruins, Ghost Ships, Magical Girls, evil Military, Mine Carts escaping from crumbling mines, Cheesy Humor, Wedding Crashing... The list goes on, all that with a wonderful soundtrack. It is the most fun JRPG I have ever played. It never really gets dark serious, it's at most adventurous serious, and frequently humorous.

The reason Aetelier Escha reminded me of it I think was because of the floating south american style ruins and the light hearted feeling. It brings back great, great memories. Honestly, to any anime fan, I would recommend Grandia I, Lunar I & II, Illusions of Gaia, and Terranigma. Most RPGs in the recent past usually revolve around solving dark problems, preventing wars, or some other serious conflict. Those that I mentioned have conflicts, but they more focus on romance, adventure, and friendship, they make you happier at the end of the day.

Where the heck did her tail come from? It was not there as a child nor waking up older. Then suddenly she has one. What?

She has it on the game cover

This anime feels like I'm watching Shining Hearts all over again... The moment I saw Logy carrying a sword, I got a feeling that this anime is a game adaption. A poster before me proved my gut feeling was right.

Oh it already came out? Sweet. Is there anywhere official to stream it, or will I have to rely on other means for now?

No where official, though obviously a lot of us are hoping for a late announcement from CR.

FUNi is unlikely I would think due to the fact they said they were already done announcing shows.

I don't know how any of the other legal sites out there even work so I won't comment on them.

great games right there. it's a shame that the story was so lacking in Grandia III, because it had the best game mechanics of the series. I wish they would make another one, but I'm not holding my breath.

Episode 1
Only watching this because the art but the anime doesn't seem to have as good of art as the game does.

Can't help but think of Ledo considering Logy looks just like him and he's also voiced by Kaito.

This show reminds me alot of Wizard Barristers expect with alchemist instead of wizards and without the fanservice and annoying characters.

Does anyone see Vanille from Final Fantasy XIII in Escha? I swear it's like a spitting image.

I do like that the story seems to be about finally being rewarded after the hard work of many generations. I don't know if Escha or Logy deserve to be the chosen ones, so I'm hoping they give detailed backstory about their pasts.

And it's really weird to see apple tarts and windmill parts being created from a cauldron. Yet it's interesting.

I knew this had to be a video game, or based off one.. whatever. It just gave that feel with the whole synthesis and getting ingredients from monsters stuff. Too bad i dont have a PS3

Watched episode 1, I liked it. It was very cutesy and relaxing, without being cringe worthy. The animation was a little rough at times, but the art style is nice. Glad it doesn't seem to focus on fighting or have some big omg wtf reveal or anything, its just laid back. Like the lighthearted nods at romance. I'm going to keep watching this one

Also I recognized Eschas VA, it's the same VA that does Asuna in the SK games and anime, neat

I downloaded the game on PS3 and played a few minutes of it when I had the time. Being that I've only played FF games, it was definitely different. It had pretty high customer review ratings so when I have more time I'll play it again.
