Click to show or hide GiniroKumo wrote: I had the all access before so I could watch live action and anime, but the app was buggy as all get out. it constantly crashed my PS3, froze, went out of sync and then Crunchyroll stopped adding Japanese television. The last straw was that I was in the middle of Gundam Wing when Crunchyroll didn't renew the license and it was pulled. I cancelled my subscription and gave up on it. I kept getting emails about free trials, and after a year I figured I could give it another shot with a free trial, but nothing has changed! The program still crashes after a few episodes, the audio de-syncs and there is still a startling lack of Japanese movies or television shows. Will Crunchyroll ever fix this broken app or am I going to have to cancel and find another way to watch what I want? I find it ridiculous that people I know that watch shows on website that probably aren't legal for copyright reasons have no issues but the people here who pay for a service can't even get the application updated and working. Howdy! Yes we're working on it, probably not before your trial ends, if you need any assistance you can also email us using the 'Contact Us' link at the bottom of the page. Best, -B When? When is there going to be an update. Do you have an estimate? The stickied post by you Bjaker was almost a year ago. I'm really close to cancelling my account because I'm FUCKING TIRED of my PS3 app crashing every 3 minutes. I have a computer hooked to my tv and your piece of shit browser client won't stay in full screen. But you brought out a client for the piece of shit PS Vita first? Seriously, it's like you want people to cancel their accounts due to poor development choices. Crunchy Roll should have never started on a new client without fixing the ones they had. Time to stop taking our money and promising bullshit in return. Sorry that you're upset. Really, I'm not just saying that. The production pipeline is interesting, I can't go into detail, but there are certain things that we're working on that are pretty big. I've been pushing the lead engineers pretty heavy to get some time devoted to existing platforms with issues. We'll be revisiting apps within the next six months. This is what I have been told. I do not know when it will happen, but something else is that we're also currently aggressively hiring more engineers. So ultimately that will mean more manpower and hopefully someone able to address the issues sooner rather than later. Again, I'm sorry, but we are working on it. Regards, -Baker That's the same thing you've been saying since last June. But at least have the common sense to update people and not leave an ancient sticky. It's obvious there's a memory leak in the PS3 app that's causing a crash. That should be the first priority. There's no excuse for bringing out a PS Vita client before fixing a broken PS3 client and I can't see a Vita client ever being used more than the PS3 client. I have to power off and power on my PS3 at least 3 or 4 times a day. And that doesn't include the crashes to the PS3 home screen. Then there's the failure to roll over to the next show in the queue or just sitting there after an episode. If your dev team is that incompetent, it's time to find capable developers. I sure as hell wouldn't code a piece of shit like that and let it out on the market to piss off my employees and make the entire company look incompetent. Cool! I'll pass your feedback along! Also, just keep in mind that it made it past Sony's testing too! -B |
TIME TO WATCH A LOT OF ANIME~!

Yeah but I don't pay Sony for service. Passing the buck doesn't increase my faith in this company.

I guess I'm lucky that I mostly use Crunchyroll on my Xbox360

The Xbox app still has the skipping problem. It does work better than the PS3 app though. I think I set a record the other night and was able to watch 4 episodes before the app crashed.

At this point we all know our roles. There are bugs and various well known problems with the PS3 app. It obviously needs an update and as time goes on this becomes clearer and clearer. So we'll keep complaining, because it's what we feel we must do, and you'll keep telling us you're working on it, because it's what you feel you must do.
Eventually expanding to more platforms won't be the priority, that's why I'm sure aggressive expansion followed by going back and fixing the old stuff was the strategy all along. It's just taking longer than it should to make that full-circle. |

The PS3 app has been updated only ONCE during its entire lifetime, and that was MORE THAN A YEAR AGO.
How are we even supposed to believe your claims that it's still being worked on?? For all we know this is just a lie to convince us to not cancel our subscriptions yet. As a paying customer, I DEMAND that you at least offer us a timeframe of when you're expecting to release an update to your PS3 app. |

There's a difference between submitting a sternly-worded complaint and freaking out. It does exactly nothing constructive to call a customer support line and begin screaming at people, so why should the internet equivalent of doing so bear any more fruit?
It's not as if valid criticisms haven't been leveled against CR here. It's fair to criticize the company for not hiring the amount of staff it needed to complete its projects (which probably sucks a great deal on their engineers' end), it's fair to criticize the company for having its priorities skewed (supporting existing platforms more thoroughly would seem to me to be the first thing to do to avoid losing customers), and it's even fair to criticize the duration of the problem. We pay good money for this service, and that entitles us to demand a certain standard of quality for that service. It also entitles us to being kept as much in the loop as is reasonably possible while still retaining the integrity of CR's operations. But for Heaven's sake, have some tact and finesse as you complain. In order to elicit positive reciprocation, you must first offer something positive to be reciprocated. Now, to see about that update. |

I'd just like to point out one thing:
CR has more than likely been constantly stuck between a rock and a hard place as more systems come out and people are wanting CR to get to that platform quickly. I've seen things like "When is it coming to Wii-U, Xbox One, or etc.?" i'm sure this was the same when the vita came out and other platforms. Yes, them not having enough engineers can be a problem but if they have the same business plan as what i read on one review (sorry can't find the link to it right now) Most of the subscription money and Ad money goes to the owners of the Anime/Jdrama/Manga you watch/read. so there is also that to factor in on their part. while in my opinion i'd like to see them polish off the apps before they introduce more on other platforms, as long as i can see at least one full episode before it crashes, freezes, etc. I consider it good enough for my money, even if is only $7 a month, and the development process.
