In your opinion, who is the most charismatic and/or manipulative character in fiction?

In my opinion, Orihara Izaya from Durarara!!!

A lot of other manipulative bastards in fiction have some kind of supernatural assistance, be it a power or irresistible charisma. Izaya grates on the nerves of everyone he comes across and savvy people know he is trying to manipulate them for his own gain; despite trying not to, they still end up playing right into his hands. He exploits peoples' personal failings to manipulate them instead of using coercion or some overpowered magical / technological ability.

Add in his crazy fighting skills (enough to dodge chucked refrigerators and fight on par with a girl using a sentient, cursed katana), and you've got a downright despicable guy you can't help but like.

What charisma? Are you sure you weren't dreaming that one? And he's the one who causes people to fail from what I can remember.

I was talking in terms of sheer manipulative ability, not charisma.

Hey, i didn't have to say it after all!
Considering the count wins in both charisma and being manipulative i think this is a fantastic choice.

My bad, I tend to just scan for words when I'm this lazy. He's got some sociopathic tendencies but he's not really one. Especially when he seems to prey on girls with problems but at the same he's also not really pretending to be a good guy to them and they are probably attracted to that. Not pretending to be a good guy pretty much means he can't be a sociopath in my book. He's actually portraying a pretty honest character from what I can remember.

Just randomly felt like saying that, no one seems to ask what Muv-Luv is when i bring it up in threads or generally trying out anything new. But it's a visual novel series that's a bit different because of the rUGP engine it uses. I don't advise the anime original it's a train wreck in so many ways.
