I hope someone decides to stream this so I can judge for myself :(

Netflix will be streaming it this summer, reportedly in all locations they are available.

Madman in Australia and New Zealand announced they were going to simulcast it, but then cancelled. (I suspect Netflix's claim of "firstly and exclusively" was written into their contract, and didn't include the geographical restrictions the licensor probably thought it did when they licensed to Madman).

I thought it was interesting. I really hate cg tho so it was kinda hard to watch but I like the premise so I'll stick with it for a while, see where it goes.

This is about as good as I'd hoped to get from seeing the PVs. The characters look like they'll be the weakest link, and the CGI isn't helping in that area. But i think the setting and technology is being well presented.

As a fan of Nihei's other work, so far at least it's enough to let me happily nerd out over.

Not sure I'll be recommending it to anyone, though.

Think the CG looks pretty good, only thing that bugs me is that you can tell the framerate has been artificially set at 24fps to try and make it look movie like but it's quite noticeable.

The problem that I have with CG inserted anime like this and Kingdom are that the characters' aesthetics are so unappetizing to watch.

But the background art is phenomenal.

They won't. Netflix has it but won't release it until the summer when they finish their dub.

decent first episode. the CGI will take a little getting used to, but it was the same way with Arpeggio, and I wound up liking that in the end, so we'll see.

I think they handled the CGI pretty well, all things considered. The backgrounds looked nice but the characters still have that CGI awkwardness to them. Hopefully that'll improve as the show goes on.
As far as the first episode...my complaints with it are the same as the issues I had with the first episode of Captain Earth. I just feel like they tried to pack too much in into it. That aside, the setting managed to capture my interest more than Captain Earth did.
Anyway I'm still interested in the setting enough where I'm looking forward to the next episode but if the pacing doesn't slow down then we're going to have a problem.

I am in the minority again! This is a cutting edge sci-fi anime like Psycho Pass,Steins Gate , Ghosts in the Shell. And as far as as it beiing a Mecha anime it goes way beyond that!

1. The animation attention to detail is amazing. Espeicially the tech side and backgrounds! The CGI does not bother me!

2. I like how everybody wears unifroms of not a fanservice nature!

3 BTW the the social / science aspect of mutiple gender, human/animal mutations cloning and photosynthesis is on a level like the anime above!

4 It has a link to Steins Gate aka CERN where the Higgs particle power the Guardians

5 Nagate is cool being different from being underground!

6 There are Anti Sidonia goverment protests

7 Sci-Fi is not for everyone but this has such a true feel to it sadly liking in some sci-fi cross blends nowayday.

8 I think there is some dislike (Netflix) because it's not on CR or Funimation. Sad but may be true for other animes to come

The tech detail

I like how the suits look battle worn! It is survival after all

Last time I watched CGI, it was Kingdom. I was like what the hell was with this awful looking animation. For some reason, I decided not to drop it. Boy did I ever a good decision for myself, Kingdom is now one of my favorite mangas/shows. I have this inkling for many shows I should have dropped without a second glance. Black Bullet, Kingdom, Gantz (okay, OKAY I really SHOULD have dropped this one, god was I BAITED by both the anime AND manga GAH ) and Sidonia's manga. I was like erkkkk....weird art. But I kept going. And I was glad I did.
Something about a good story just draws me in (EXCEPT YOU Gantz)
