I know probably a lot of people asked this questions but I was wondering does Crunchyroll app on the PS3 & PS4, and lastly IOS devices show 1080p HD or 720p HD? if you know the answer then tell me, because you will be a real big help.

I would guess that the PS3/4 version changes quality after the app or PS4/3 has checked your network speed. However the mobile version(s) is not in HD due to 3G network connections not being fast enough to buffer HD. But I would doubt you would be avail to see any difference on a phone due to the fact that a mobile screen is so smaller then a TV and/or computer where HD is essential for a good watching experience. |

I think this would need to be in the Support forums to be honest. But as far as I'm aware iOS supports up to 720p but something I've noticed while using it is that the resolution can fluctuate a little from time to time. As for PS3 I believe it streams in 720p however I'm not too sure about the PS4 app.

I think the PS3 shows anime in HD.
As for iOS, I dunno... I own an Android device. However, it loads much faster on Android, so I speculate that it isn't in HD if you're using the app on a mobile device. |

Moved to Site Support / Minor Questions. You may also find the answers by browsing some of the threads in the support forums for the individual devices. For you all guys thanks for replying and helping me out. I already got my answers from the people that work at crunchyroll and this what they told me.
"PS3 and PS4 will display the highest resolution available (up to 720p). They will change resolution based on the strength of your connection. iOS only streams up to 480p currently and will also adjust based on the strength of your connection. Regards, ~Bjaker " "Provided your connection is strong PS3 and PS4 will always stream at 720p! The reason why iOS devices tend to look better even at 480p is because it's a much smaller screen! We are working on bringing 720p and 1080p to iOS devices! Regards, ~Bjaker" |

Is there a reason why the PS4 does not support 1080p from launch? I use the PS4 for Netflix and Hulu Plus all the time but gotta switch to my laptop when watching CrunchyRoll (And yes I can tell the difference between both HD resolutions because I use my PS4 on a monitor)

Eggaro sorry for not replying back or answering your question. I just been busy with school and haven't time to check on my crunchyroll account on the website. I don't know for that answer, because I asked them and you can read my last respond on this forum and maybe you can email and ask because im not really sure. I couldn't tell the difference on HD resolutions because im using a Google Tv with Sony made together. They have 1080p HD and I have great internet connection.
