Gurren Lagann for sure.

GURREN LAGANN, who the hell do you think they are?

Kill la Kill: DON'T LOOSE YOUR WAY

Attack on Titan: we are the hunters and Erens an idiot

Fairy Tail: Magic + Celtic Rock + Natsu, Erza, & Gray = Fairy Tail

Accel World: MMO cyberpunk anime need I say more?

A Certain Magical Index & Scientific Railgun: (Un)Lucky bastard

Halo Legends: it's Halo, please throw your COD hate in the trash can over there.

FMA & FMA:B: the perfect anime 'nuff said.

Sword Art Online: had some moments but the second half killed it for me GGO however... no no I won't spoil.

FLCL: "What's fooly cooly?" "How should I know I'm only in grade school."

Attack on Titan -- amazing perspective and concept
Early DBZ -- made childhood so cool! for reasons
Grave of the Fireflies -- epic, shocking on the sad/negative end of the spectrum

[edit] -- don't know which to crown for visually stunning

Flowers of Evil, it's so artsy.

But I don't like it because it's artsy, i like it because I can relate to the message of the anime, which is the criticism of society and its opinion of sex.

People in society think having "sexual feelings" is such a bad thing unless it's in a marriage. They'd do anything to control those feelings, only people who are able to control these feelings are seen as "normal". People who can't control it are seen as "perverts" or "freaks".

When in reality, it's these exact same feelings that are the reasons why we are all here.

Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam

Berserk

and.... Alright fine. Gurren Lagann and Code Geass.

These are all shows with moments in which I had some epic investment in. I went out of my way to purchase Gundam and Gurren Lagann in order to watch them properly, without illegal bull or legal crap stepping on my tape. Lagann is English Dub or bust to me, and I'm really unsure what the rest of the community thinks of it's dub.

And Eureka 7!

Eureka 7 was the first Anime I spent watching week by week waiting for it's proper ending. It was just so powerful near the end, I was madly in love with that show. Family would all get together every Saturday Night to watch that Opening and see the Recap. Oh the ANGER we had every week when Renton, then Eureka, and finally both of them ended each episode with "To be Continued"
NO, THEY SERIOUSLY SAID IT, EVERY DAMN TIME. It was mocking us...and it was glorious.

We did not sit and watch a series with such intensity until Code Geass, and only during it's Second Season! The first Season was watched only by me, my siblings wanted no part of that shit. Season 2's opening episode was just so random, with such high production values.

Aaaand Trigun. Trigun is a very basic, toned down 90's Anime. It just, succeeds at everything, and it wins the award of "epic"
Despite not having such high stakes as the others, it's it's own journey.
