Hey everyone,

Just curious to see how many people if given the option to not having to sleep ever again, how many of you would? I myself will sometimes go a couple days with out sleep and I do enjoy how much more time you have to get things done and to enjoy more. I know that people need sleep but if given the option I would choose to not have to sleep.

What about you? And why?

Hmm, I think that's a really interesting question. Most of the time, I sleep because my body biologically necessitates it. For example, my brain just feels heavy and I feel the need to completely clear my head for a good 5-6 hours or so. When I oversleep, it's usually for the purpose of lucid dreaming, where I'm hoping to go into a world of imaginary things and control them at my will. I suppose though, that if I had the capability to survive and function perfectly well without sleep, then I would choose to not sleep, because, as you said, it's really nice to have that extra 5-8 hours every day to do something else, whether that's marathoning an anime, or catching up on work to be done.

I can stay up for long periods. I normally try to stay awake for 24 hours before every sleep.

I did this for awhile, but it started having bizarre side effects, like really bizarre. They would start every 17 hours and go away after I sleep for 4-5 hours.

I wish I didn't have to sleep, that'd be more time doing what I want!

Yeah, I'd rather stay awake forever.
Sleeping takes about 1/3 of one's day. Usually work or school takes a 1/3 away as well. That leaves one with eight hours to do as they please.

I'd like to sleep forever. To live in your own fantasy, or dream, for practically an eternity...

(Sorta sounds like death. Whoops.)

I would absolutely, 100 percent say yes, provided there was no sleep deprivation of course. Effectively makes your life twice as long. More time to watch anime hehe

I would definitely stay up if there's no downside to it. (Like looking 30 years older than I am)

I heard sleeping takes 30 years of your life, sleeping is nice though. What if your partner has to sleep than it would just feel awkward and you'll feel left out?
It sounds awesome at first but if I'm the only one than no.

I am in the same boat as you. I would rather not ever need to sleep again, so that I can be more productive. Unfortunately, I have never gone several days in a row without any sleep whatsoever.

Why can't Alphonse sleep? I don't understand why talking tinmen can't sleep.

I want eternal sleep, and waking up is not one of my options.

I enjoy sleeping, but not for the same reasons as most people who like to sleep (because they're lazy or whatever).

I like sleep because I get to have many wonderful interesting dreams; dreaming is like reading a novel (in my opinion) or watching a movie, it's surreal and it's plot-like.

I just don't like dreams where it reminds me of a painful past, or where I dream that I have many friends... (my wish is to have a lot of real life friends)... then when I wake up I realize it's just a dream, and I don't have many friends in reality... that kind of dream makes me sad-- and makes me cry.

Dreams are cool, and sometimes it's kind of nice to have a sort of reset button. You wake up and your problems all seem kind of brand new -- it's like looking at them with a different brain.

With that said, I'd rather have the extra time. I can get a lot done with 9 or so extra hours in my day.
