is it normal to literally believe that something is behind you and is going to kill you?

EDIT: even though nothing is behind you and you know it 100%

Normal is an illusion. What is normal for the spider is chaos for the fly.

Yes because you feel a ghost or someone is watching you

Yes. It's death. He's always there waiting just the right moment to grab your heart and stop it. Cool huh? Yeah I thought so.

It's normal if it doesn't interfere with your daily living.

Everyone has a neurosis or two. Being a bit paranoid is a good thing (survival). Your fear become abnormal when it interferes with everyday living. If you're debilitated because you're constantly afraid something is going to kill you, then you need to seek help and talk to a professional. And you'll probably want to do that before it consumes your life.

A profession shrink can help you dial in the root of the phobia. The cure maybe something simple. There might be an issue that you need help working through. Most phobias are sprouts off of a root trauma.

Bottom-line: seek help if it begins to interfere with your daily living.

Good luck. I wish you well.

As long as you don't bludgeon your friends to death with a baseball bat because you think they are trying to kill you, or claw your own throat out, I'd say you are fine.

Your response is probably just a hyperactive normal instinctive response. Since most animals don't have as many ways of perceiving whats behind us its a natural attack point for things trying to kill us for whatever reasons, so we naturally react to small unknown stimuli from the rear because we don't have all the information we need to assess threats and generally speaking its better to have a false alarm then to get eaten because you didn't react to some small stimulus.

Well, everyone is a probably a little paranoid, I know I am, but as I mentioned in my other post, it depends on how much it controls you life. If you shrug off the feeling and eventually think it's no big deal, then I wouldn't worry. However, if your phobia changes your living pattern or damages your health, you should probably talk to a professional.

Plus asking on an Anime forum isn't going to give you the best information. We may be well intended, but we're not professional mental health experts.

If it worries you, I encourage you to speak to someone, but I wouldn't be scared. Cheers.

It's normal don't worry, think that you have a spider-sense but it's kinda bugged.

Anyway you're always prepared for the worst if that happens and you can maybe react on time.
