Mounties - Police

EDIT: People are taking my post WAY too seriously.

Mounties = FBI+BATF+US Marshalls+(Some) State Troopers+(Some) City police.

Used to be our anti-spy agency but they split off into CSIS about 20 years ago.

Like I said, people are taking my post way too seriously.

I'm not taking anything in this thread seriously. I'm just posting stuff about Canada. or Canada-US

because it's fun.

Exactly, papagolfwhiskey. If they're gonna mix in some facts with some stereotypes such as "Hockey - Football' some of the facts should be politically correct.

FUN FACT: Canadians have two national sports! Hockey is our national winter sport while Lacrosse is our national summer sport!

This is not possible, "US" "U.S." And "UNITED STATES" are defacto, they only deal in color of law and commerce(still colorable). They are colorable governments(Govern-the-mental). "US" is not the people. "United States of America" is the non-profit people organization. Also, "addressed" means it was delegated to a ward(of a corporation)

Canada: everything goes back to the Monarchy. Royal (Mounted Police, Army, Winnipeg Ballet) Crown Land, Crown Attorneys

Is CANADA(KKKANADA) a "state" government? That's what a Monarch is. CANADA as listed by the SEC is a corporation, with a maple tree as it's logo, not nation flag. Look in the articles of confederation, CANADA is a corporation with his headquarters in Washington DC. Surprised? You shouldn't be.

US the Government cannot own corporations.

Corporations can be "parents" of other corporations. "U.S." Is the secured party interest holder of the defacto "nation" called "CANADA", I could give you it's listing and CIK number, and alongside CANADA. You'll find "WAL-MART" "APPLE INC." "CRUNCHYROLL" etc. Because they aren't listed differently.

Canada: "Crown Corporations" (owned by the Crown) - Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, Canada Post, (at one time) Petro-Canada.

US - Fox.

Canada - AL Jezeira can meet the Canadian Radio-television Telecommunications Commission's rules for setting up an in Canada version of their station. Fox, can't or won't

I'll go and look up these corporations to comprehend this part. Lol, flying right over my head.

Ignore my message, I just wanted to quote it to clear up misconceptions that would have spread if they took that comment for the true. Wasn't "addressed" to you specifically.

I thought it went like this
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_v._Nixon

The government is also allowed to own corporations
list:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Government-owned_companies_of_the_United_States

with a sort of description
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Government_Corporation_of_the_United_States#United_States

Also, what's it like, having the queen be the head of state, but not head of government?

About the People confusion. argh.. watching too much law and order I guess. All I meant was in Canada government institutions and individuals such as prosecuting attorneys are usually designated with terms like 'Crown' or 'Royal', IE the Crown Attorney. public land being known as Crown Land etc.

hmm.... didn't realize that the US could own corporations. I was told otherwise by an American. They found the idea of crown corporations quite shocking.

I'll have Rick Mercer answer that last question:

Well though many Canadians do not like being compared to the US they are very similar with one exception. Quebec.

Take all the worst traits of US culture and the worst traits of French culture, mix them in a pot and the result is Quebec!!!

They have seriously threatened to secede twice from the rest of Canada. Both times they had to be reminded they would not have an oceanic port and they would have to import food to survive.

That's a very superficial view of a very complex issue that has deep roots both in our genesis as a nation and more recently the repatriation of our constitution from Britain. don't you think?

Their bacon is not real bacon.

Canadian national anthem is easier to sing.

Canada has a strategic maple syrup reserve. I don't think such a thing exists in any other country.

Canadians obsess over hockey, Americans over American Football.
