Hey guys i currently use an Ipad 2 for reading Manga online and i was thinking of getting an Ipad Mini since it would be smaller and easier to read on but

Since some times on my ipad 2 some chapters would have black bars on the side that reduces the size of the page and if this occurs on the ipad mini i think if would distort or just make the page harder to read.

If anyone reads manga on their Ipad mini i would like too know if you have an issues with it

I love reading manga on my iPad mini! It's really just about the perfect size.

Reading Crunchyroll Manga, there is about about 1/4 inch of black along each side. This helps keep it proportional (in the first version of the CR Manga app the pages took up the full width, and that was bad because it meant the top and bottom of the pages got cut off and you sometimes had to scroll to read the remainder of a text bubble. I'm glad they fixed that.)

I also use the Mangabox, and Viz media apps on my iPad mini, and have sometimes read manga on the Kindle app as well. Even though the black space differs, I never notice things looking distorted, and I don't recall having trouble with the print being too small to read or anything (that does happen sometimes when I read manga on my Kindle Fire).

Mangabox: the pages seem to perfectly fit the screen.
Viz: about 1/2 inch either side
Kindle app on iPad mini: no black borders

Hope that helps!

That said, this question seems more suitable for the Manga Help Thread than as a separate thread in General Discussion, so I'm going to reply and then close.
