I just turn on a series I already watched when I'm sick of garbage American Tv. Since I already know what happens I don't have to be bothered with reading subs or paying attention to anything. Sword Art Online is amazing for background Anime, the OSTs are amazing and all the voices are pleasant to listen to.

Hamatora. I'm Hama-torn.

Do I keep this in my que?

The characters are so blah.
The story is so blah.
The animation is so blah.
But sometimes you're just in that lazy blah mood when you might even turn on the Matrix or Harry Potter just for the background noise.

Do you keep any "blah" anime in your que when you just want to watch anime but don't feel like contributing too much emotion or intellectual effort?

This is a thread after my own heart.

I tend to use "Bleh" and "Blarg" instead of "Blah" however.

I would say no. Purge that blah to make room for another blah.

Hell, I started a thread recently in which I asked people how they manage to watch shows I labeled as too blah.

Ace of the Diamond, I don't care much about the characters and story, plus it don't have anything special in my opinion.

Samurai Flamenco - Nuff said.

Animes that are not on crunchyroll:

Tokyo Ravens (Even though I think Kon is adorable)

I only keep watching stuff I like, if it's "blah" then I drop it. I'm not going to watch an anime I don't like just for the sake of watching an anime.

Log Horizon for me. It started out interesting when Shiroe and the other level 90 characters were actually fighting things, but now it seems like they're always focusing on low level characters or talking about boring politics. I'm only really watching it because I feel like I got too far to just drop it without seeing the end.

I second that. It's not that his story is so boring, but its portrayed so poorly and predictable in these animes.

Man Hamatora really is one of those Blah animes. It's like, not bad and I can pay attention to it. But I just don't feel the need to watch the next episode. I only watch it when I have nothing else to do/watch.

I'm actually on hiatus with Hamatora for the same reason. Like OP said the charas are just so flat and predictable to me. You know the kind whose names you'll never learn even though the names are unusual. The MC being so OP doesn't really help things either. I'll probably skim/binge watch it after it's over, since that's what I tend to do with shows that couldn't hold my interest, but weren't actually bad. Same goes for all the Nobunaga stuff. There just aren't that many historical figures that I'd care to simultaneously watch three shows about.
