Instagram May Be a Mistake to Society?
Posted 3/20/14
Well you guys heard about this recent photo application called Instagram, right? Well many people especially kids around at my school and all of them care about is how much likes or follows they earn through their pictures/videos. I have a feeling that is application is a huge mistake to society and it seriously starts changing of how we take our pictures. Whenever people have food on them, they take pictures on it and they post it like if anybody gives a fuck about what they are going to eat or how much clothes they have, or they get shitfaced every weekend (usually teenagers do this shit).

Well what do you guys think? Is this application a huge mistake to us or it should have been never created to begin with? I have one as well and I kinda want to delete it.

It's just for selfies. I personally don't care for it, but it has nice filters though.

It's a huge mistake that people give a fuck about how no one gives a fuck what they are going to eat or how much clothes they have, or how they get shitfaced every weekend.

A even bigger mistake is people getting pissy about how people choose to live their lives

the biggest mistake is probably the evolution of cavemen to modern day humans then

The main problem is that it entices people to futher the tendency to be like everyone look at me pay attention to me, like they need everyone to be aware that they exist and that can be a very bad thing to feed.

It's not a big deal, you have the choice of letting it affect you or not. Worry about your own life and stop caring about what others do, you'll be way happier in the long run.

Just think about it.

When Myspace/Facebook were around it had all the things but now

Twitter = Status spamming whores
Instagram = Picture whores
Tumblr = Blogging whores

I don't mind these things, infact I used Twitter to get a hold of couple people when I couldn't via Phone/Skype/Fb
Instagram sadly, helped me find good places to eat and who's selling things and how my family is doing ( Anime Friends helped me find some good Animes to watch)
Tumblr uhhhhhh just being Tumblr.

Tumblr is a million times worse than Instragram.

I think that you're being dramatic. Instagram is just one small speck in the scheme of society and life, and will fade out of popularity soon enough.

Here is a list of social networking sites:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_social_networking_websites

If you glance at the list, you'd notice that Instagram's uses aren't very unique at all. It's pretty much a mutant mash-up of Facebook, Flickr, Tumblr, Youtube, and Twitter. It's just currently "in" for select circles of people. Supposedly, Instagram had around 150 million users last September. By now, approximately 200 million can be expected, if even that high. Only 200 million out of the 7+ billion human population. That's close to the population of Brazil, and you can fit them all in New Zealand, albeit uncomfortably. The rest of the world doesn't use it.

Instagram as a whole was a good idea, and well executed.

its creator has made some good money - but as with all good internet ideas, the idea will fall off in time. Myspace is a perfect example of this.

The same could be said about Twitter, YouTube, Tumblr, Facebook, or any major social media application or website. There will always be people who overuse it and whore it out, but if you use it moderately I think it's fine.

People are free to do whatever they like as long as it doesn't cause any serious intrusion into the rights of others to do the same. Whether Instagram is simply another fad remains to be seen. I don't bother with it at all, and my friends are the same way. If people want to take photos of their food and share it with others, well, more power to 'em. I think it's stupid, but it isn't my call to make.

They can do whatever makes them happy, and I'll do what makes me happy.
