Please stop giving these people publicity. They are a dime a dozen in this country; nobody cared about these idiots until someone put them on TV.

Someone once said- "Don't show me your God with your words. Show me your God with your actions".

& we've all herd the saying "Actions speak louder then words". Your actions aren't just what you do, it's also what you leave behind. It's your legacy. When it comes to Fred Phelps, he left behind a legacy of hate. I'm a Christian, & I'm really proud to be one. Yet I don't condone many of the things he, & his following has done. God is about love, not hate. If you're in a position of power, it's your responsibility to make sure that stays true. it doesn't matter if you're gay, straight, Christian, Muslim, an Atheist, or whatever. We're all people. We're all supposed to love each other. Not like, or even agree with,--but love. To strive for a world that's better for everyone. So I feel sad for all the people he's hurt. For the bitter taste he left behind.

That being said, It's sad whenever someone dies. It doesn't matter if we think differently,--death will always be a sad thing. Yeah, I wish he did things differently, & used his influence for good. Yet I still hope he finds peace.

I wish I could be as charitable as you but I can't help feeling that the greatest good he did the world was departing from it.

I feel the same way basically. I agree with all of what Mico171 put, though I am in no way religious, and even though I have no actual hatred of the man and his death doesn't really change a single thing I still find it hard to not be a little glad that he is gone.

That's awful! I mean the video you linked to is awful, I could care less about his death, but that video you put up...dear me...I couldn't understand a word of it, is this some sort "Political Talk With Alvin and the Chipmunks"?

He was a terrible person. I am a Christian and I had to apply effort to be able to not hate him and his followers. So I don't hate him and I try real hard not to condemn him and his followers, as well. But he was a terrible person and what you said is pretty much true. He wasn't always terrible, but yeah...I'm glad he isn't in this world anymore. Hopefully, oh so hopefully, his vile, hateful church will now dwindle, diminish, and disband in the next several years.

I won't rejoice his passing. I'm not that kind of faceless monster.

seriously, are you all going to go party now that someone you never knew and has nothing to do with you died?

Nope. Wrote one single line of opinion about it and carried on.

Oh no... what a shame... a pure blight from my state ended up dying... if you can't tell, i'm totally heart broken... it's hard to tell from just text on a forum... but I am SOOOOOO heartbroken....

Ok so now that that is out of the way.

I won't be praising the Lord or throwing a homosexual orgy in memory of Phelps, because I don't think even with how heartless of a monster I consider Phelps that I could be truly happy someone died, especially since other than giving my State a bad name, he hasn't done anything to me directly.
