Night Angel Trilogy might be cool. Or Eragon.

I've personally always thought it would be cool to see Lord of the Rings as an anime. I could just imagine some of the character designs/scenes and if done right it could be pretty damn awesome.

Flan by Stephen Tunney; it's practically an anime (or a bad acid trip) in novel form. Flan: wakes up with a start, realizes his house is on fire, grabs his goldfish, slams on his toupe, runs down the stairs, gets jumped by a giant rat which his goldfish eats, he thanks his goldfish, his goldfish says it's all good, then he runs outside and finds the whole city on fire.

And the rest of the book is Flan (or the world) going progressively more insane after some kind of nuclear apocalypse.

It's a crazy book. But also pretty fucked up in the head. It's basically NC17 reading material if you visualize it.

I want to see more of the cyberpunk genre. Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep, Neuromancer, Snowcrash, etc.

I think the Rum Diary would be a pretty cool anime. Like a comedy/slice of life with a little romance.

Ender's Game by Orson Scott - just because you can't make a decent live action out of real little children in a dramatic sci fi / political movie. They had to pick actors that were much too old for the movie. It's very dark and a heart wrenching beautiful story of humanity and hope for our future from the perspective of children.

There are several books in the series and spin offs, involving two of my favorite children MC OF ALL TIME: Ender, and Bean.

The children all need the MOE treatment, especially Bean and Ender's sister, Valentine. His relation with his onee-chan Valentine is very precious, rivaling any kawaii brother/sister relation in an anime. The alien piglets from the sequel also need the MOE treatment.

It's really what a lot of modern day anime are like, but better :).

that has a book? thought it was just comics

idk, i rarely like movie adaptations of novels but... it'd be cool to see some of the children's series animated, like Boxcar Children, Babysitter's Club, The Book of Ember, Nancy Drew, Redwall, Shadow Children, Magic Tree House, etc.

i'd rather them leave my classic novels alone, just references in anime is enough lol
