ETA: I also do not like that tender rain song, and I've heard it way too many times now.

So very true.

i like the story but the age gap makes the romance kinda creepy. I mean how are they going to make their wedding office if you know what i mean wink wink hint hint? How old are they anyways?

I think like 3 years apart. Not that much. Plus, love overcomes all.

Another good episode. As far as the song goes, I really enjoy it up until the point the lyrics get to "It's a tender rain..." But, it's nice seeing the progress Nike and the King are making. That half ring half rainbow at the end was neat.

Of course one would think a 3 year age gap is creepy. Open a history book and find plenty of examples of this 10 year old prince betrothed to the 15 year old princess (wow old).

And the Twilight fans never ever thought about how Edward is over 100 years old and is a pedophile for tapping a teenage girl... Brilliant.

Livius is 15, I'm not sure how old Nike is.

I was thinking 17 but a comment on the wikia said 20. So somewhere in there.

Actually, I read on Enzo's blog that the Japanese wikia said Livius is 12, while Nike is 15. Given their respective looks, those seem pretty accurate to me.

Their ages vary wildly with each passing post. Er, for now, age doesn't matter that much right now >_>

I can't help but feel a little smug when I skimmed through the first pages of this thread. It seemed like not many had high hopes for this anime until it proved them wrong. Amidst the array of glowing praises I have for this show that have mostly already been voiced, my only complaint has already been voiced as well. There's only so much beauty a song can hold before it overstays its welcome. Yes, I'm pretty sure we all know which song it is. I really hope the production crew realizes this, otherwise, the world once known as beautiful would soon be known as dull. I don't see much beauty in repetition.

Often, one will enjoy anime so much more if he or she aims low at the start of the season.

Having high expectation is only a negative on any series. The tilt on the emotional roller coaster feels better going up rather than crashing down.

Hype does not help, either. Lol.

edit: why does age matter in the first place? I do believe that those who have issue with their age believes in the back of the subconscious, that they will hump like rabbits.

You are the creepy ones.

As far as I can tell, it is one of those situations where they don't exactly tell us their ages. From anything I can find at least. So it's probably all speculation on what the readers interpret. Plus I have noticed over my course of watching shows and reading Manga, some people take years that pass in real time as time that passes in the Manga, so since the manga started in 2012, they aged the characters up 2+ years over that time.

I'd say right now in the Anime Livius is 13-15 and Nike is 15-17. Which really isn't weird at all... since as I think AK said earlier in the thread, pop open a history book, or hell even a book for today, families still marry into money. You can find where a 10-14 year old girl would be given to a middle aged man to marry. Probably can find the same thing happen reverse if you look where a 10-14 year old prince of some sorts would be given an older female to marry.

But who are you to decide what his character is? Maybe it was just a brave front, and that's his real character. He has the whole country on his shoulders, he had to do something.
