Ep 2

I remember someone made the comment during the first episode that this was like a Disney movie and holy crap you're right, it even had the musical number this episode. At the same time, there's nothing wrong with that comparison. This show is good and I'm still enjoying it.

Very nice. I wasn't sure from last week, but I might hold on to this one.

Heh, I still love how Nike doesn't back down. This will be a keeper for me this season.

They could seriously have ended the show with this episode and it would have felt like a complete experience. I feel like I just watched a 2 Act play on Broadway! ENCORE!

I get the feeling Nike and the Sun King are going to become "the couple" for this season.

Which really speaks for its quality when I think about it, cause I'll be honest.....I tend to hate shoujo shows. I'm just not the target audience and thus don't like most of what the genre has to offer. This? I like this, despite, or maybe even in spite, of being a shoujo.

lol I tend to dislike shoujo and I am the target audience! Which is why I was worried about this anime. XD But it has me smiling so I cant complain.

Wow, the promise of the first episode has already been delivered and the anime has barely begun. One Week Friends better step up its game if it wants to still be in the running for best show this season. Nearly every part of this episode was perfect. It was a well thought out, well executed story, the pacing was perfect, and it already has more character development in these two episodes than some shows I have truly loved had their entire run.

Nike's view of the world is beautiful and wants to show Livius the same. Thus the title! A lot of emotions run thru this anime along with a political tone too! The song was meant to stir emotion and not be pop as some comments said!

I just can't get over how short the king is though! I wonder how old he actually is......

He's 15, assuming it's the same from the manga. So he's not actually a "kid" kid, but a teenager kid. But still a kid lol.

idk, i really liked the rain song. It didn't sound too "pop"-y for me. And I thought the Engrish was very pretty.

Thanks! I couldn't remember how old he was supposed to be.

I loved the rain song, though I prefer the wording used by the scanilators for the title line:

"And convey unto our thirsty King that the world is still beautiful."

Much more poetic...

All in all, this one is in the running for "best of the season" so far. It is nearly flawless and exceedingly charming. I really can't say whether One Week Friends has it beat or not. They are both top notch shows!
