It means they know that you're going to close it for them. =D

Like a servant.

Personally I hate it, I had my family come visit, my father and his girlfriend and 2 kids were horrible about leaving the doors open, front door, back door, letting bugs in and AC out, my electric bill was 30$ higher that month -.-

Open door policy. Make them fear entering over their own curiosity.

In short....Enter At Own Risk!

I don't ever really have this problem.

If my door is closed, it's cause I'm not in there or it's daytime. During the daytime and early night, I have my door open all the time, so anyone can freely enter and leave if they wish.

Closed/Locked doors makes me think they're handling their business, so I don't knock or enter.

I only close my door whenever it's night and I'm about to sleep to block out some noise or to..

Yeah.

I assume that they forgot the door was closed in the first place. It doesn't bother me. I don't mind getting 10 seconds of exercise by closing it myself.

I used to hate it when my family opened my bedroom door and forgot to close it. But that was when I was a whiny preteen. I hardly care anymore because it's nothing to be upset about.

I only have my door closed when I am not at home. Otherwise, it is left open. I've come to dislike closed doors because they make me feel boxed in and cut off from other people. I don't like that feeling.

And my cat hates closed doors. I wouldn't want to upset the little princess.

Have you bothered to tell the "door fiends" about the aggravation they cause? It won't guarantee that they'd stop, but it may help. Expecting people to be mind readers, or something?

Closing the door??

I chime in with a "Haven't you people ever heard of closing the god damn door?!"
No, it's much better to face these kinds of things with a sense of poise and rationality.

Sorry, had to.

I hate when people leave the front door open and wonder why there are flies inside.
