Yeah saw the first episode. The dub is not bad. The only voice I have to get used to is Revy's. Everyone else is fine.

Black Lagoon is one of those anime's that I enjoy immensely. Its also one that you need to watch a few times to fully appreciate the entire scope of everything. This is especially when Roberta's Blood Trail is added to the mix.

First anime I watched, after seeing (spoilers) this scene: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CQ116EVYVP4. A very good 'gateway' show for initiating newbies without too much of a culture shock in my opinion. It was quite a blast, a lot of fun. For some reason I was really nervous while watching Roberta's Blood Trail - it was noticeably darker and I feared for some of the characters

Only if the newbies are adults. Seriously, it's seinen for a reason and I would NOT label Black Lagoon as a gateway anime for any reason--the first Ghost in the Shell movie (or Hellsing/Vampire Hunter D) would be best. If anything, Black Lagoon should be watched in conjunction with Jormungand, Psycho Pass, and Ghost in the Shell-SAC/Appleseed XIII to get a good scope of what seinen manga/anime are about.

Just want to say but a title being seinen dosen't necessarily define its content. You can put Gunslinger Girl up with it as well and it's a shounen title.

Umm, okayyy....well I personally found that it was a good gateway show for me, because it has plenty of explosive action, a diverse cast of characters and an environment that's tailored towards it being English dialogue rather than Japanese, plus it has an almost total lack of blatant fanservicey/ecchi content save in one episode, the rest is pretty discreet. And yes, I'm talking about adults here (my age is beneath my avatar).

Great show. on it all on DVD. Didn't know they were showing it on Toonami/Adult swim or whatever they are calling that showing now. Don't get that station up in the Great White north. *sigh*

Be interesting when they get to some of the later arcs..

like.

Thanks to this show I now know what words aren't censored on adult swim.

The censors on adult swim made me look up Black Lagoon online.

Black Lagoon is epic!!!

It has the best cast a show can have and the dub is probably the best dub I have ever seen so far.
