Maid/Butler Cafes
Posted 3/23/14
i think it's a brilliant idea, i mean who doesn't like the idea of hot men/women being nice to them? and serving them tea/coffee/cakes?

i'm actually interested in opening a cafe (when I'm 40 or something), maybe I should open the first butler cafe in Sydney, hire a few hot waiters....

I work a cafe/restaurant. It's very much meant to tickle fetishes, but it's not anime themed at all. There's a Japanese theme, but it's the culture and there's no anime/manga, etc. Other than the mugs I serve hot drinks in.

They're a swell idea! I can name a few off the top of my head...

There used to be one in Toronto but i think that it actually got shut down for ethical reasons..

Maid cafés are places people go with their friends right? Do people ever go to made cafés alone?
If I had buddies and we had maid cafés around here then yeah I'd go there like every weekend, stuff like that just fits in with the whole lifestyle of people who like manga and anime doesn't it?

I believe that they're having a maid cafe at the upcoming Anime North so if anyone around the area wants to experience something like a maid cafe then that's probably your best bet. Let me know how it was...

Me too. I'll probably be your waiter in a butler cafe after I find myself over there and on the no-fly list.

The closest thing Murrica has to a maid cafe is Hooters or Twin Peaks(unfortunately they have underage girls working there which is why I refuse to eat at any establishment)

I don't know how they make me feel since I live in America (the land that specialize in male entertainment ) and at least butler cafes don't exist. Neither do host clubs. If they did I'd be first in line. If anyone knows of any bona fide bulter cafes or host clubs in America please let me know!

I'd love to get the chance to visit one, but have yet to find a maid cafe. ;-; A few times I thought there was one nearby, but my plans were foiled again and again. The first time, it turned out to be an on call catering service run by college students, the second turned out to just be a cafe with tacky anime decorations - looked like a middle school budding otaku's bedroom, and the third time was an on-campus college event celebrating something, but I ended up transferring out before it happened.

I wish it was a regular thing in North America. It seems so cute in the Anime. If there were any here and it was a popular thing, I'd go there to drink coffee and order muffins instead of Tim Hortons any day.

...You're in Canada, so why do you wish it were a regular thing in North America lol?

It is not really my thing. I don't really find it cute either. I guess for me, some things are better off left in a fictional series.
