Thoughts About Our Current Generation

I shall mass produce medals and make everyone wear one.

Um... what's wrong with kids learning about social networking and/or using new technology? How else is technology going to grow? If kids nowadays kept playing with toys, technological advances will wane and dwindle into something so meager that I hope we don't engender.

Another thing; my childhood toy was an iMac G3, given to me by my computer teacher at the time of his retirement (I also had a violin and flute, but that's beside the point). I find it kind of offensive to say that kids using "technological devices" are ending up "corrupted."

I think this generation will be just as uniquely fucked up as the ones that came before it. Don't take it all too seriously.

I think the current generation is pretty awesome. They are going to do some amazing things in the next 50-75 years. I wish I could be around to see it.

We are screwed, the biggest problem with my generation is the lack of common sense. Common sense is probably one of the most important thing required to function in this society. Sadly, I think most people in my generation are book smart only.

Uhhh I hope not. Because when I retire, the "current generation" would be ruling the world. I don't want to see my retirement ruined.

The current generation had better be really darn good at running stuff later on. (e.g. not starting a world war and killing us all)

Look. It's the parents. If someone is messed up, you should kind of feel sorry for him or her because chances are the people have ______ parents, who didn't teach them a darn thing they should've learned FROM parents. The parents could've been too lazy and just given them what they want / letting them do anything they want instead of doing the hard thing (actually saying no and setting limits, even if that means putting up with tantrums / complaints / et cetera) thus making their kids into spoiled brats.

Look on the bright side! You have better parents... Right?

Anyhow, it can't be that bad. There were some really bad kids in my days as a kid as well. There are ALWAYS gonna be good and bad kids.

The only thing I can say about our generation is that the younger they are, the worse they are.

*Shakes his head* Every generation has been told they are fucked by previous generations and they have turned out all right. This generation of kids won't be different from the other generations. They may have some problems we didn't have to face, but we had problems others didn't have to face as well.

To add to your point roughly 2400 years ago, Plato (429–347 B.C.E.) is quoted as saying, "What is happening to our young people? They disrespect their elders, they disobey their parents. They ignore the law. They riot in the streets inflamed with wild notions. Their morals are decaying. What is to become of them?"

Don't make the same mistakes, as we did. Go find newer and better mistakes to leave to those youngsters.

When kids are being raised by their televisions and the internet who the fuck needs parents? Right?

These days kids are more materialistic because that's all their parents ever taught or showed them. "I'll give you this now go play with that and leave mommy the fuck alone, mommy is cheating on daddy with another man."

So yeah this current generation is more like kids trying to raise kids so....we're fucked.
