No.

Even back in the days when I did view fansubs (from about fall 2007 - July 2010), I streamed rather than downloaded.

The one time I downloaded was after the third time my satellite reception decided to crap out during the final episode of Negima! on Funimation's block at the time on the COLOURS TV channel, I finally said, "Enough, to the torrents!".

That didn't work out so well. The episode wasn't well seeded, and after a long time I only ended up with an incomplete lo-res copy that took another download to play. (I needed a player that could ignore missing segments of the file).

FYI, I finally got to view that episode on the channel the 4th time around. I believe that was after I set up a second dish (one for each sat).

Yep, except I call it electro-gonorrhea. I buy much less anime compared to manga because I don't think plastic cases look as nice as books on a shelf. The few shows I own are in a disc binder.

I've thought of subscribing to another service for legal HD streams and without commercials. As I research other shows that they offer I may do it. Other than that - zero download, just CR for current things.

Norton is so-so. I use Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. Don't know what you use but even the most sturdiest walls will crumble. Probably a quote from some obscure dead person

No actually but if CR doesn't pick up Youkai Watch or Hero Bank I'll consider it.

No i don't need to download anime anymore. It's so widely available now you can even buy it direct from Japan too if you're into that. I think that the days where somebody could justify downloading it if they ever could are long gone though some of my experience with fansubs was even before downloads trading tapes around that costed a stupid amount to buy and even when we could download way back it took like a whole day just to get one episode so it's not like now where you can download a whole series in 10 minutes.

Distribution is so good now it's either being streamed for free as it broadcasts in Japan or it's on Blu Ray within a short time frame. People who download anime now just do it because they can and they don't really give a crap about anything.

AVG, norton, malwarebites, ad-aware, ccleaner, spybot S&D, combofix... also use Opera web browser, because it's the safest one, and you're more likely to get a virus from web browsing than you are from torrenting if you use trustworthy sites to get your torrents from. and download them one video file at a time is better than downloading batches. only virus I've ever gotten was from a hacked website ad I was on while using firefox. ever since then, I guess you could say I've gone a little overboard to try to keep my computer virus free.
