aside from having to format my HD and re-image it about 4 times now... I've also gotten the error that happens when you try to update and get thrown into a boot loop.. windows explorer crashed on start and wouldn't recover.. had issues with flash player, so I had to uninstall every instance of flash, search for an archive of old flash player installs that wasn't on adobe's website because it wouldn't load properly...

within the span of A WEEK. I haven't had so many problems with windows since XP! and I ditched that for Vista 7 years ago. and as bad as Vista was, it was still a step up from XP in my opinion. I miss Windows 7.

Jesus, the Microsoft Gods hate you .___. I've never had a single problem with Windows in my life. Did you upgrade on an old computer or was 8 installed on your PC? Maybe it was something that went wrong if you were updating your old Windows?? Other than that, I have no clue why it's caused so many problems.

na, I built the computer myself, so it was a brand new HD and windows install disk. Windows 8 is just... horrible. but apparently Best Buy doesn't stock Windows 7 anymore, and I was in a bit of a hurry so I didn't have a choice.

oh, something I forgot... most of those re-images were more or less forced on me, because it wouldn't let me do a boot repair, OS refresh, or any other kind of reinstall that wouldn't completely wipe the HD because apparently the disk was locked, even though I went into DOS and verified that the disk was NOT locked.... *headdesk*

I used to, but now that I am aware of the different legal streaming sites that carry anime (Crunchyroll, Funimation, Hulu, Netflix, etc.) I almost never do it anymore. Last time I downloaded anime was fall of last year when I downloaded the original Neon Genesis Evangelion series and that was only because you can't find it for legal streaming anywhere and the DVD releases are at least $130 since they are so scarce now. Now, after I watch a show on CR, I buy the Blu-Ray/DVD and rip them onto my harddrive.

No. I much rather like doing things the legal way. If it's not on a legal streaming site or service such as CrunchyRoll, FUNimation, Hulu, or Netflix, then I either wait for it to be licensed and then purchase it or I simply don't watch it.

I rarely buy anime digitally unless there's a really good deal on it that physical can't beat.

I used to, but the ones I had I've long since deleted (they were old, & don't match my interests anymore. cx) .
But that was before we had any kind of video stores where I am (my area sucks u.u), so now I just buy the DVD's from FYE, it is harder to find subbed ones though, every now-and-then you have to settle for dubs.
But imo, downloading takes too long, & uses WAY too much storage.~ o.o

Yes, but don't tell anyone

Though I don't know what's with everyone's "I'm clean I'm clean" chant in here. It's not illegal if it hasn't been licensed.

Another thing: lately I've had to hunt around for streams on the dark side for some things on CR because my internet provider thinks it's funny to play hardball with other ISPs, and some days I can't get the videos to load worth a damn.

No fault of CR's, I just can't buffer the videos on any quality setting.

Wow. Just looked at Amazon, I'm glad I bought NGE back when I did.

I hope this means they're nearing a rerelease and this time they'll do a Blu-Ray box set.

Yes it is... that's what international copyright laws are all about...

It's true it hasn't always been that way though. Like when Tolkien didn't get any royalties from the first printing of The Lord of the Rings in the United States because our laws didn't protect foreign copyrights at the time or something.

One can only hope that when the fourth Evangelion rebuild movie comes out (around the same time as Half Life 3), Funimation will create an Evagelion explosion with a complete box set of all the rebuild movies and a Blu-Ray rerelease of the original series (Platinum Collection), Death & Rebirth (even though it's not really needed since the movie is pointless anyway) and End of Evangelion. I would lose my shit.
