Lately, there has been more ads taking up the space. Is it because theres not enough CR supporters and Shinji has to use ads to keep the server up? Or are these ads serving as a reminder for us people to become paying supporters of CR?

You're correct; there are now adverts at the bottom of some pages aswell. This is most likely so that Shinji can get more money from advertising to pay for the ever increasing bandwidth costs. ^-^
I think he just added ads right next to all videos for non-supporters. But if you hit the larger link it disappears. So it should only be mildly annoying for non-supporters.
Well, Shinji doesn't have much say over the ads, so we can't get mad at him for them being a bit... well... lewd. I don't know how we can inform people about the new ads without getting the sponsors mad...
