That is indeed the general consensus, and always has been, among women in relation to bra sizes - even in Australia (A is the smallest, G is the largest).

You say the number on your bra sizes refers to the actual circumference of our chest under where our breasts are. That is indeed the waistband. That's where the waistband sits. It is the same all over the world. In Australia our sizes indeed go from A and also up to the same letters - much the same as you do -, I'm not certain that we have half sizes however. We do have AA and AAA for those who are extremely petite and adolescents but we do not have BB etc. All the support in a bra lies in the waistband as opposed to the straps and otherwise therefore it's imperative the waistband measurement is correct. Here's an example of how it works, also this is the most accurate way to measure bra size. https://www.brasnthings.com/fitting-room/bras-how-to-measure the measurements are done in cm but you should be able to piece it together. I'm almost certain this is universal. The only difference is how the measurements are presented but it is easy enough to convert a US bra size to an Australian bra size and vise versa.

Ah, I see. I get what you're saying now. When you were talking about the waistband, I thought that you meant the waistband on pants, not bras. XD Then yes, it is basically the same for sizing and measuring, however our letter sizes refer to how big the cup size is, and the higher the letter the bigger the cup size always. We have A to AAA sizes as well, and D to DDD sizes and the same for the upper sizes, but it's not so for B and C sizes, but those ones both have half-sizes for women who are inbetween those sizes in America. The link that you showed me for measuring them is almost exactly the same as how I was taught, only we measure the upper part of the chest above the breasts as well and use a conversion/addition thing to determine the band size for the bra.

The subject is rough enough as it is guys, try to keep the pictures tasteful and within site rules. You guys may want to avoid using Queens Blade pictures in general, if you have to at least use the ones where they are wearing actual clothes not their "armor" or a bikini.

Hai! Please note I didn't do any of that and am as innocent as a baby lamb. Mhm. Baby lamb. I am getting hungry.....

No one is in any trouble, just gotta through it out there based on a couple pics from this page.

Habit of mine to plead my innocence in front of some form of authority.

As long as they are not flat and as long as they have good proportions, I'm fine,

I like it when women have a decent bust (subconscious biological bullshit and all that), but really, it's a matter of proportion. If a woman is short and/or has small hip and waist measurements, then large breasts look out of place on them. An hourglass shape is ideal, but... those aren't exactly common in reality.

... now I sound like I'm trying to give people body image issues...

Personality is more important for choosing a romantic partner regardless. No matter how sexy their bod is, if they don't click with you it's pretty pointless. Conversely, even if they're... less than appealing physically, if you're attracted to them anyway... go for it.

Anyway, bra sizing in the US has two factors: band size and cup size. Band size is determined by measuring the circumference of a woman's ribcage (NOT including the breasts), while the cup size determines... well, how big the cups are, with each successive size approximately twice the size of the previous letter (e.g. a C is twice as big as a B)... I think.

I'm dating a near-flatchested girl right now.

Before that it was a girl with double d's.

I don't discriminate.

Actually, I prefer a girl with a flat chest. I have no idea why, I just find myself being more attracted to women with smaller boobs.

actually... flat chest can be rather off-putting on men.

I prefer men to have a little pecs... but that's just my preference... pecs not manboobs though.
