And what is your interest in riots in general?

There are riots started by anarchists, riots started by fascists, riots started by police charges on protesters, riots started by agent provocateurs mingling with peaceful protesters, riots started by criminals only out for looting in the mayhem who mingled under political protesters, riots stated by non-political hooligans only out for the excitement mingling with peaceful protesters, riots started by fanatic supporters of this or that cause or ethnic or religious group or sports team, and so on. I have witnessed or seen the aftermath of a number of these. There is no single trend or single cause. What is captivating you?

i want to know what people think if they are shown how many protest and riots happen around the world everyday.
I believe that a lot of people are very oblivious about this fact and that if they were shown that the frequency of these events are really high, things could actually start changing. Also, i feel i'm part of their cause when i share these things on the internet. After all, that is why they go and take the streets and start the big chaos, because they want to be heard by their governments and the world.
Finally, putting every event in one single place gives a much a better perspective of the real situation in a global scale.

a single grain of rice can tip the scale- some wise man

Well, awareness of the number of riots in the world depends on how much the media in your country shows and whether you actually watch the news. The news I watch tends to report riots from around the world, like the most recent ones in Madrid.

But I think people are much more oblivious about the number of protests and protesting people in general, because riots at least capture the attention of media, while they can ignore even a 100,000-strong protest if it is peaceful but against elite interest. However, as a conscious tool to get media attention, riots are a double-edged sword, because instead of getting a hearing for your cause, it can be used by authorities and propagandists to get the majority of the population against your cause (and the cause of much more numerous peaceful protesters who didn't join in the riot but are tarred with the same brush).
