Like Spike Spiegel says in this awesome scene from the cowboy bebop movie "I love the kind of woman who can kick my ass" http://youtu.be/utLWiscq8d4

This is the most epic thing I saw and the fights are so realistic. <3

that's what I love about Cowboy Bebop, it's got a real Film Noir thing to it and the fights are all fairly realistic. plus it has some of the most memorable characters ever

Still my #1 anime and the one that made me realize i wasnt watching cartoons... This was serious..

We had the topic about american cartoons vs anime and while yes cartoons are a form of anime.. When you watch something like spiderman, DBZ, MIB, case closed, Ghost Buster, The Mask, or Pokemon the imaginary lines can get kinda muddied...

But jump to Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, Hellsing, Wolfs Rain, Soul Taker, Serial Experiments Lain and your like what the hell is this... This isnt just Cartoons...

These are the ones that got me into anime.. Basically what was playing back in 2000 or earlier when Toonami, Adult Swim, And Tech Tv were bringing anime to the US.

I would prefer a guy stronger than I am. But that's easy because... Even though I work out, I'm one of the weakest people I know. I just lack raw physical power despite working out for strength for a period.

For protection? Definitely, that's the main point of a relationship for many women, plus that's kinda what's needed for most girls.

I don't need to be protected -- not that I can protect myself(I can't), but I learned how to stay out of if, plus I run really fast...

Maybe I do need a protective man? Heh...

I mean, I don't want him to be weaker than me, that would be pretty weak for a dude. I like a fit guy, but I don't want him to be that way to protect me. I can protect myself. I like working out and I want someone who does too. I want a gym buddy more than protector.

My man does Muay Thai & BJJ so uhmm.. yeah, I guess I do like them VERY strong & badass.

I don't necessarily need to be protected by him though. We used to go to hardcore shows together before and I never needed him to just stand there and block people for me. Lol.. I can take care of myself and throw a few good punches, thank you very much.

Would I date someone whose ass I can easily kick? Maybe not.. Mostly because I find someone to be more attractive when I can't win against them. Is that odd?

I like my chicks less powerful.

It's a dominance thing. Sadists are weird like that. Besides, she knows I'm the knight in shining armor so it's cool.

Doesn't matter. I mean it'd kinda be cool to be with a buffed up chick, but a slender figure is usually more my taste. Athletic is usually prime. And as for "protective" you'd have to clarify. I want someone who would care but not enough to punch any other girl who would get close, you know? But that's over-protective so I'd like to know OP's line of demarcation.

My boyfriend is naturally stronger than me, he's the whole "tall, dark and handsome" package, I'm quite literally 150cm so I'm often perceived as "cute" and "needing to be protected", regardless of whether or not I actually am weak or need protecting.
It makes my boyfriend feel needed if we're in the supermarket shopping for groceries and I can't reach something and I have to ask him to reach it for me, it makes him chuckle and squish me because of how "cute" it is. I like making my boyfriend feel needed, however I wouldn't pull the whole "damsel in distress" thing and I wouldn't want to be treated that way either.

Strength isn't something women go for anyway. What they're talking about is nice abs, biceps, something arbitrary and useless like that.

She wouldn't be stronger than me, not physically anyway. Maybe if she spent all her time around weights. Even so, women have more adipose tissue than men, it's why muscle mass is tougher for them. At least semi-athletic would be nice. Something that shows me she's not always at McDonalds, but her body would be a result of a better lifestyle, maybe a tiny bit of discipline, that's all her physique would represent to me.

It wouldn't matter to me, I don't really have a masculinity problem, don't need to feel stronger. I'm more concerned as to weather or not it's a woman who's going to like me for who I am, rather than if I am stronger or weaker than her. Not that I am a tiny dude, at 5' 9" and 195 pounds I think I'd be big enough to take care of it if the situation required it. That being said I'm usually too much of a teddy bear to fight, unless someone threatens it or throws the first hit, in which case, I'll finish it by caving their face in..

A female more masculine than me is just....weird in my opinion its just so damn hard these days to find a real girly girl where I live

I HAVE NEVER seen a female wearing a dress I see plenty wearing jeans tracksuits and jogging trousers (and it makes me angry)

females here tend to act rather manly with attitude and stuff

they say there are no more real gentlemen BUT the same can be said for there being more more Ladies
