Over the past couple of days I have been getting a lot of lag (in SD) that I don't get on other video websites. Not only that, but more concerning, in the middle of episodes the video randomly stops and tries to bring me to the next episode in the series. As if I had reached the end of my current one. What is this? Is it just me? Can this be fixed please? It's really annoying.

You can stop the site from jumping to the next video by disabling the auto-play function (an orange, circular button on the right hand side of the player controls.

As for the lag, a lot of people seem to be experiencing issues with CR's video lately.

Oh, thank you. I didn't know that button existed, but I'll be sure to turn that off. I think I can deal with the lag so long as the video skipping stops. ^^

Well, even disabling the auto-play function only means the problem causes you to skip to the end of the video instead of the start of the next.

Aaaaand my hopes are immediately shattered. ;-;
Any idea what's causing this? It's the main source of my stress.

Have you tried switching your router's DNS settings to use either Google's public addresses or to OpenDns? That sometimes helps in some, but not all, cases.

I have no idea how I'd go about doing that. I'm not very computer savvy. ^^;

Well, have a read through this first before trying anything, quite a bit there won't apply to your PC: https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns/docs/using. Print it out just in case, it also provides instructions how to set it back.

But if you are unsure of yourself, and don't have someone local to fall back on if you are concerned, you should try contacting CR through the support link: /help?topic=contact I certainly don't want to recommend that you do something by yourself you aren't comfortable with, and I can't really help you directly in the forum.

If this video always stops/skips at a specific time frame every single time, it's an encoding issue with that particular resolution and you'll either have to switch resolutions or just wait it out. If it stops/skips at the most random time frames, it's a networking issue and you'll just have to wait until CR fixes the issue (I also have the same problems as you. (Episode stopping/skipping and lag)

If you decide to just wait it out, support won't know that the video needs to be re-encoded, lengthening the time until it is resolved. I'd suggest sending a message to support, specifically Bjaker, asking for a new encode. Otherwise, it's up to someone else, or someone on the staff, to find the problem and report it.

It's not always a permanent issue (at least for me). When I have encountered specific time frames stopping every single time at that same exact frame, I'd literally wait it out the next day or even an hour or so and it would work just fine again. So I'd like to say it's not an encoding issue, but a network issue. Most of the time anyway.
