Fate/stay night is getting a reboot which is really but is not the first! Other reboots/remakes include birdy the might decoded and full metal alchemist! So Im really asking is what anime series do you what (or seriously needs) a remake/reboot? (for me it has to be Rosario Vampire)

I think there was just a thread on this.

Honestly, Pandora Hearts.

I had a lot of hopes for that Anime when I saw the first two episodes.

Then after that, the story seemed to just drag on while uninspired fight scenes transpired.

Every episode in PH is true to the manga except for the last three, which are anime-only. And it's not a action-oriented story, but more of a mystery. Anyways, PH doesn't need a complete re-make, but rather a continuation. And with plenty of source material, since the first 22 eps only cover the first 8 volumes ( PH is now at 28 volumes and still going), there's no reason for the anime to stay as it is.

Weird that we've had like three recent threads on the subject of reboots lately. Fascinating how humans think in cycles. I think this was the last thread: we need a reboot | http://www.crunchyroll.com/forumtopic-841099/we-need-a-reboot

Anyway, on topic....

Neon Genesis Evangelion ... This time without that giant floating head and an ending that is less metaphysical, and animated by Trigger or J.C.Staff.

I don't even watch action genres normally, but I think it's supposed to be classified as a Mystery/Shounen? Even if it's not supposed to be a straight up Shounen, I've seen action scenes parodied better in school Harem animes.

I thought the action sequences were cheesy and took away from the overall feel of the anime.

And I heard the anime adaptation left the characters pretty dry which may explain why I didn't find them as interesting as the summary made them about out to be.

The characters are better fleshed out in the manga, yes. And I agree that the fight scenes could have been better animated, but there's so few of them that it didn't really bother me all that much. Now those anime-only eps on the other hand...yeah, really could have done without those. It was jarring to still see manga content, then all of a sudden switch to original content that made no sense whatsoever. Crappy ending was super crappy.

Urk, I kinda rambled. Sorry.

Not at all :). I understood that explanation clearly.

And lets see...

Soul Eater
Negima
Rave Master
Rurouni Kenshin
Flame Of Recca
D.Gray-Man
History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi
Gantz
Initial D
Deadman Wonderland
Rosario Vampire

Just a few of the top of my head that I'd love to come back. Or remade closer to the manga.

Fruits Basket

The anime really only covers volumes 1-6 with the addition of 2 chapters from vol.7 and one chapter from vol. 8 (and those three chapters give you a different impression in the manga than they do in the anime). The majority of the material the anime covered stayed pretty close to the manga. However, there were certain parts in the manga that the anime just completely skipped over, changed, or left out and all of them were important to either character, relationship, or story developments. The anime also changed who characters really were and even some of the characters personalities. And I'm talking about just the material that was in volumes 1-6 (what the majority of the anime covered), anything that was in 7-23 is a completely different story.

So for me, I think that Fruits Basket needs a remake. I know that there are people who want a second season but the anime is 13 years old. It would be better to make a remake and get new (and old fans) into the series as well as improve the animation quality. Instead of just getting the old fans back and confusing new fans because they haven't seen the first season
