Have you ever noticed how certain things seem to make you feel different than before viewing them? Such as listening to somber music can make you feel a bit low and sober, whereas listening to something 'harder,' such as metal or rock, can get your blood pumping and adrenaline flowing? Not only music. Video games, movies, books. Even conversations. If you talk to someone you like, or about something you like, you tend to feel better than you would talking to somebody you dislike, or about something you dislike.

Why do you believe this to be the case? Or is this not the case in your situation? Discuss.

Outside forces definitely do affect mood and how we view things. As for how they effect us, that is a different story.
I believe a lot of it is based on personal life and how you have experienced things in life.

What's interesting about this subject is how different outside influences conflict. By finding two different influences that effect you in opposite ways, then if do both at once, I find it gives you a whole different feeling, almost as if you are confusing your mind and how it thinks it should react. An example of this that I have done is when I play intense/suspenseful music while at the same time playing smoothing/nature music. To me this give a whole new experience that I've never known. Although some people say this has no effect on them, I think the right combination of influences are what is key, and this isn't the same for everyone. Also, they don't even have to be opposite influences, they could be a combination you can mix and match. I hope this makes some sense to others.

So yes, I do think it effects us.
