Custom Built PC, coming up on being about 2 years old, although I have done a few upgrades

Intel i3-2120 3300k
8GB RAM
MSI H77MA-643 Motherboard
Single ASUS 23.6 inch 1080p Display
MSI Geforce GTX 780 Ti 7GB
1TB HDD
7.1 Logitech Wireless Headphones
Logitech G500 mouse
Logitech backlit keyboard

Mainly used for gaming and watching DVD's. Just added the 780 Ti and it renders games beautifully on max settings at 60+ fps, costly, but defiantly worth it. Next to go is the board, and then the processor, planning on upgrading to a i7. And more RAM wouldn't hurt either

Compared to mine you're all running garbo. And always will be. Have fun with that.

Custom built. About 2 years old now. Don't remember the exact brands but...

Intel i5 3570k
Asus Z87 (I think)
8GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 RAM
3x 24" 1080p Asus monitors
Radeon 7970
2TB HDD
dvd drive
blu ray drive
5.1 surround speakers
7.1 logitech headphones
$10 logitech keyboard
Razer Naga mouse

Bought it specifically for gaming. Barely game. Spend more time watching dvd's on it than anything else.

Almost the exactly same as my computer right down to the cheap logitech keyboard and razer mouse but mine has a Kingston 240GB SSD and not so many monitors XD

No idea if mine is powerful or not..

From the dxdiag:(removing some of what I consider fluff items)

Operating System: Windows 8.1 64-bit
Processor: AMD A10-6700 APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics (4 CPUs), ~3.7GHz
Memory: 8192MB RAM
Available OS Memory: 8136MB RAM
DirectX Version: DirectX 11
Display Card name: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660

Other items I use: Wireless Logitech mouse, Razer Deathadder (old) keyboard, Wireless Afterglow headset, Insignia speakers 2 acer monitors, 1 24" 1 20".

Not sure if there is really anything else needed to be known. Though I love my computer, knowing its specs is beyond me past what dxdiag tells me.

It plays every game I have at max graphics with no slow speed though, so that works for me. This does include big graphic games like Skyrim, ESO, other mmo's, and stuff like it.

Then what percentage of Steam games do you think I can run with those specs?

You can have a powerful PC but if you have low end video card it's going to be a bottle neck and limit what you can do as far as gaming. The opposite is also true, with powerful video card and a CPU not fast enough to feed it. Though assuming you have a decent video card you can probably play most game just not with settings turned way up.

So far, all the Steam games I own run smoothly on my PC. I think that's all that matters.

Phogan is totally right. Regarding the CPU bottlenecking the GPU, it'll be interesting to see if the lower-level API's of DirectX 12 or AMD's Mantle provide any noticeable benefit across a significant percentage of games.

Regarding % of games playable, I'll just point out that up until last year I was using a computer with:
Intel E8400
2GB RAM
AMD 5850

The only games I ran into that I really couldn't play were FFXIV 1.0 and Tera, and I play a lot of games. Out of I'm guessing 300 or so games, those are the only two that were unplayable. which equates to about 99% of the games being playable. If we nitpick, neither of those games were on Steam, so I was able to play 100% of the games I bought on Steam with that system.

Desu's computer is overall probably better than what I was using at that time - though without knowing the GPU it's hard to say for sure; likewise i3 can mean a lot of different processor models.

Intel i7-4960X Extreme (3.60GHz, running at 4.0GHz when in Turbo)
32GB DDR3 RAM
Intel 120GB SSD mSATA
1TB 7200RPM WD SATA2 Drive
Two NVIDIA 880Ms, running in SLi
Windows 8 (haven't upgraded to 8.1 yet... just been too lazy/non-caring since I've tinkered to how I want it)

Yes, it is a laptop - but it runs just fine. It's a Sager
I haven't found a game that slows it down yet.

to lazy to give full specs but

i7 cpu
gtx 670 gpu
32gb 2133mhz ram

and i think thats the only thing to define how powerful it is. aside from bottlenecking.

but yea. my pc is extremely powerful in comparison to average peoples and will last me for years before i even need to worry about upgrading
