Agarest: Generations of War might interest you if you're looking for a rpg? It's a pretty solid turn-based jrpg with some dating sim stuff on the side.

There's also the PC ports on Final Fantasy 7 and 8 on Steam, you've probably played them but they're there to buy if you ever wanted to revisit them. There aren't a lot of jrpgs on the PC sadly,

Good Old Games is also really great for cheap games, they're mostly older titles like the name suggests but indie developers have started using them as a store. They've actually got Empire Earth for like $5 if you wanted to revist it :)

Also if you're looking for PC games in general, check Cheapshark, the compare the prices on different services so you can find the cheapest

Jump on GOG and pick up some older games. Turn based isn't much of a thing anymore. It was originally a genre because the hardware wasn't up to it.

Actually, GOG is becoming the defacto go-to place for games outside of Desura and Steam. Steam currently has HORRIBLE QC and as a result, a lot of new indie games are being ignored by bogus companies that throw Valve a few dollars to sell their old, crappy, games from the 90s on Steam (like Desert Gunner). The good thing about GOG is that is has great customer support and ALLOWS refunds for games that simply won't work with your PC setup.

From what I hear, Steam has a "one-time ONLY" refund policy, and they mark your account because you wanted a refund.

For other PC game buying options, check out:

Green Man Gaming (they constantly have good sales and give 20%-25% off coupons via e-mail or through their site)

Get Games

GamersGate

Also, Desura is similar to Steam, but is more dedicated to indie games.

Diablo 2 is only available on Battle.net. Blizzard owns it and keeps a stranglehold on it.

Hasbro games... Maybe GOG. You'll have to have a look.

I'd try out warframe - skyrim - dark souls - path of exile - torchlight 2

if you're looking for older games on the pc - titan quest - tes obliv/morrow

I wouldn't go into LoL / WoW / SC 2 / Diablo 3 without a friend, because they get boring fast when you're soloing XD

If you want older older games. . might as well get an emulator for ps1 ps2 (try youtubing guides?)

much to choose from, little to actually hold your attention ~.~ a simple passtime until new anime come out lol

Steam also sells RPG maker, which has a TON of jrpg-esque games developed for it.

I forget which version is modern but it's on there, and if you get it during a sale you can mitigate it's somewhat high costs.

eh. I'd recommend League even without friends. The game itself is fun - it is the community that makes me take 1-2 month breaks at a time. Currently 2 week+ break right now until I get the urge to play, if ever. If you have friends to play with you - it should be fun..

Starcraft 2 is really the only thing else I'd recommend. That game is extremely immersive as it requires a lot more focus than most other games where you can let your eyes wander to the near by television.

Steam is great as your digital copy purchases are always linked to your account rather than your PC. So if you accidentally deleted all your games, you can easy reinstall them unlimited amount of times on the same computer or a new computer if you happen to upgrade.

A recommendation of a upcoming RPG game is Child of Light (release date April 30, 2014)

Do download, rather than buying from a store. The sales online are ridiculous. Wait for Steam Sales, and/or use sites like Cheapshark as mentioned above.

Steam is a crack supplier for us pc gamers ! Wait for a sale if you want a new title , prices generally fall fast & they have 4 BIG sales a year . Also weekend specials . Buy once & redownload all you want !. Only hitch is if you have a bandwith cap from your isp . They also offer plenty free to play games too .
