How do you feel about men who are actually pretty decent chefs at home? Does that throw you off, or is a nice addition to a well-rounded man?

Show me a woman who doesn't want a man who can cook.

I doubt my definition of cook is the same as the both of yours. I can cook beans, rice, and vegetables. Pretty much all I need to survive.

A guy who's willing to cook is better than nothing.

-nods- You'd be crazy not to.

But in all seriousness, yes, I would look for a man who can cook, because I sure as hell can't.

I'm not unwilling. I find it fascinating. Just not the way I was raised. So I only learned how to do that much. Now I don't really have anyone to teach me so.... Nothing to do but to make do on canned stuff and my rice cooker.

I learned how to cook by finding recipes on the internet and trial and error, I'm in no way amazing at it but I can throw a dinner party. I myself grew up in a household were KD and frozen dinners were the bomb diggity, so I'm never ever ever going to subject myself to that again.

Watching food videos on youtube inspires me to cook, going to cook Korean food today actually.

I've been cooking for myself off and on for 5 years, so I've picked up tricks here and there. Mostly I'm just able to follow a recipe without fucking it up. I think basic cooking skill comes down to a willingness to learn and look up recipes. (And a fairly decent attention span.) But I may have picked up more from my parents than I ever realized.

I can barely cook. Heck, I can even be a professional chef in short time if I wanted to.

What do you mean by cook?
Sandwich cook?
Omelet cook?
mildly interesting recipes cook?
Fancy cuisine cook?
Not to mention the differences between cooking different items.
grilling a steak is completely different from say, making pasta.
Preparing a great burger won't tell you how to make eggs benedict.
"Cooking" as I know it isn't a single skill you level up.

Well, I myself am more prone to baking personally. However, I can cook a few things here and there. Meat, pasta, salads. I love cooking, I just don't do it very often with such a hectic schedule.

I wanna learn how to cook, not only because it makes me "attractive" apparently... but also because its plain old useful. Right now I can make canned soup, toast, eggs, pastas, and bacon. If I can learn how to make chicken I'll have all the food I need!

If you're a guy and don't know how to cook then we can't be friends. Not manly enough. Or homosexual enough. Either or.
