Didn't watch any of the Winter shows, so I can't vote for anything there.

Attack on Titan
- Excellent animation and a good plot that takes you on an emotional roller coaster throughout (episode 22, enough said)

Kin-iro Mosaic - Definitely a paint by numbers moeblob show, but at the same time delightfully funny and entertaining all the same

Servant × Service - Never would have thought a series about civil servants could be funny, but this show was funny and had me rolling in laughter a couple times

Silver Spoon - Delightful and entertaining coming of age story that actually made agriculture interesting

Fall (this was a tough one to keep it to 8 series or less)

Arpeggio of Blue Steel -Ars Nova-
Animation was subpar often but the action and story kept me entertained and invested in this series moe shps? Win

Galilei Donna - Fairly fast paced and action packed show that delivered every week, even the rushed (in my opinion) ending that could have been split into two episodes doesn't drag it down. Also, in Roberto I found an anime villain that I hate perhaps more than Sugou from SAO

Golden Time
- For a series that initally seemed like a typical slice of life rom-com, this series delved into something deeper and packed the feels in especially towards the end

Kill la Kill
- Easily by far my favorite anime of 2013...this series grabbed you by the horns (so to speak) from the first episode on and didn't let go until the end, plus the characters? Awesome!

Kyoukai no Kanata - A true masterpiece from KyoAni, excellent action mixed in with just enough drama and some seriously funny the soundtrack was great!

Log Horizon - A deliberately paced show that I at first didn't think much of when it first started, but a very well done show that dealt with a lot of different aspects of what the adventurers faced in their new world and did so very well

Non Non Biyori - Like Kiniro Mosaic, a prototypical moe slice of life show but a very charming and funny one that always entertained...and Renge-chon is adorable. Nyan-pasu!

Outbreak Company - A series I enjoyed far more than I thought I would, hilarious most of the time but with just enough drama to keep it from being to over the top

1) Love Live(It is cute, the songs are great, was way better than I expected)

1) Attack on Titan(Combines mecha and a zombie apocalypse, plus was the series the nudged me into getting back into anime full time)
2) Hentai Ouji to Warawanai Neko(I thought it was uber cute and incredibly funny, whilst also being surprisingly touching towards the end)
3) Hataraku Maou-sama!(Very funny series with a few cool fight scenes, though it could have ended better...)
4) Yuyushiki(It's cute and funny and that's all really)
5) The Severing Crime Edge(Some interesting ideas that are marred by indecision when it comes to its tone and genre)
6) RDG: Red Data Girl(Very beautiful to look at, though it is kinda slow and most of the characters are "meh")

1) The Eccentric Family(Beautiful and emotional series about family, with some amazing character growth between the four brothers at the core of the series)
2) Silver Spoon(Just amazing characters with the right mix of funny and seriousness and one of the few series to make me cry)
3) Genshiken Nidaime(The latest series in one of my all time favorite anime franchises)
4) Gatchaman Crowds(I like how it flips its genre on its head, its commentary on the growing love of smart devices, and the focus on multiple effeminate male characters)
5) Sunday Without God(Gorgeous animation with amazing world building all stemming from a unique spin on a zombie apocalypse with a cause that is almost never explored, a divine cause)
6) Servant x Service(Just really, really funny, and uses its small cast incredibly well)
7) Rozen Maiden Zuruckspulen(The latest Rozen Maiden series.....I don't really need much justification beyond that)
8) Kiniro Mosaic(Uber cute with an amazing first and last episode)

1) Kill la Kill(The latest series from my favorite anime tv series director, the most unique anime I've seen in nearly a decade, and a great tribute to the legendary Go Nagai)
2) Arpeggio of Blue Steel: Ars Nova(A beautiful series with an amazing group of characters in the Fog mental models, it questions what it means to be human, and it has multiple "10/10" quality episodes for me)
3) Yowamushi Pedal(Perfectly paced, leaves you wanting more at the end of every episode, Onoda, Naruko, and Imaizumi have one of the best bromances in anime, and plain and simply, it is about cycling, yet I still care about it)
4) My Mental Choices Are Completely Interfering With My School Romantic Comedy(Bar none the funniest series I watched all year long, if only it was longer...)
5) Outbreak Company(I loved all of the references to anime, manga, and games, plus the focus on racism and classism)
6) Ace of the Diamond(Nice cast of characters all with strong drives to win, the main character has to truly earn his way up the ladder, and Chris-senpai. Just.....Chris-senpai)
7) Log Horizon(A nice twist on the trapped in a game genre done by showing us the politics required and what it would look like for a bunch of gamers to try and rebuild society)
8) Hajime no Ippo Rising(Very intense fights, with very much required comedy in between them)

Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai NEXT and My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU

Reason: They are two of the few harems that I can tolerate enough to watch. Not a romcom person, but these two shows actually made me laugh, and they were very enjoyable.

Chihayafuru 2

Reason: This is the second season of the amazing and beautiful sports anime that I fell in love with when I watched the first season, so why wouldn't I like it? It's a fairly standard sports anime with a twist of Japanese culture and a pinch of romance added in.

Attack on Titan

Reason: I haven't felt such strong emotions for anime since... well, never. Horror, fear, shock, grief, hope, etc.. This show was a rollercoaster of emotions for me, and I haven't been this satisfied with an anime in a long time. It's an obvious choice, but I sincerely enjoyed it.

Silver Spoon

Reason: Original storyline, relatable characters, and great comedy are all reasons why I think Silver Spoon was probably the highlight of 2013 for me. Amazing anime!

The World God Only Knows Megami-hen

Reason: Probably the first harem that I ever really liked, so it holds a special spot in my heart. [awww] But really, even though I was a little dissatisfied with the adaptation of the Goddess Arc from the manga, the end was a-ma-zing.

Diamond no Ace

Reason: I love sports anime. I love this sports anime in particular. Actually, I just love Eijun. He's my future husband. Seriously though, this anime revived me from my anime slump due to its awesomeness. Love it

But you do still have a couple weeks to check out at least the first episode or two of some of them. Maybe you'll find something you'll like yet?

I'm still catching up on Fall shows I missed. Not to mention almost none of the Winter shows looked that interesting to me, so I'm in no hurry to see them.

Don't think I did any nominating last time, so here's my inexplicable choices and comments (also inexplicable).

Unlimited Hyoubu Kyousuke - Decent action show.
Kotoura-san - Tragicomedylicious! I doubt this will get very far, but it's one of my favorites.
Love Live - Better and far less fanservicey than you'd expect from an idol series.
Maoyuu Maou Yuusha - Entirely for the first episode. Wasn't much to see after that.
OreShura - Harem comedies, meet harem parody.
Problem Children - Hard to pin down why this is so fun to watch.
Senyuu - Such meta, much surreal, wow (seriously, this show is hilarious)
Yama no Susume - Cute little slice-of-life, somehow crammed into a 3-minute show.

Attack on Titan - Inevitable.
Nyaruko-San W - Still as wacky and campy as ever.
Hataraku Maou-sama! - Never finished this or quite understood the hype, but it was pretty good.
Hentai Ouji to Warawanai Neko - Just because everyone else hated it and I can't figure out why.
Gargantia - Great, then boring, then great again.
SNAFU - Another harem parody.
Valvrave - Sure, why not.
Yuyushiki - An example of how to make "cute girls doing cute things" actually worth watching.

Prisma Illya - Not what you'd expect at any point (fourth-wall-breaking, followed by dark and violent).
Gatchaman Crowds - [squeeing intensifies]
Day Break Illusion - A blatant Madoka clone, but it was pretty good.
Sunday Without God - Interesting, though melancholy somewhat to the point of dullness.
Love Lab - Well-written comedy with a unique cast.
Eccentric Family - Philosophical, great characters, animation, music... I can't think of much to criticize.
Stella Women's Academy - Sort of formulaic, but better than I expected, with good characters.
Free! - Because I have no idea what other show to put here and this is the funniest option.

Galilei Donna - Weak ending, but otherwise good.
Golden Time - Toradora in college. Since I liked Toradora, this is no surprise.
Kyousougiga - What FLCL and/or Abenobashi should have been.
Log Horizon - And this is... what Sword Art Online should have been.
Nagi no Asukara - Didn't like this at first, but it continuously improved.
Non Non Biyori - Renge is the first little kid I've seen in an anime who actually acts like one.
Outbreak Company - Highest ratio of actual quality / expected quality.
Arpeggio of Blue Steel - Unintentionally silly, but the battles were good. Had a few surprisingly good episodes.

1 per for now, maybe expand later (ok 2 in some cases, I can't leave LH off):

Winter: Problem Children - I didn't like last winter much, but this was a serious standout. Interesting colorful characters, and a really great case of an 'out of scale' protagonist working.

Spring: Devil is a part-timer. Just funny as hell. When they did the occasional action sequences, they were amazing too. The intro to episode 1 might be the best fight I've seen in anime this year.

Summer: Gatchman Crowds: Unique and important. This show broke every mold, and if there's any justice will be one of the shows remembered as time goes on. All of that, plus it was amazingly fun to watch.

KyouSouGiGa. Transcendent. Simply amazing show that shows off what Anime can be if we let it. Funny and touching and visually striking and beautiful and deep and creative, along with simply STUNNING animation and set design. It's not my favorite anime ever, but I'd probably say its the best.

Log Horizon: One of the smartest shows in a while, and really builds a sense of mystery and investigation. Kind of like CROWDS in that it turns a lot of our assumptions about how anime should go on their head.

I have to have reasons for everything already? I might do this in stages.

Chihayafuru 2
Minami-ke: Tadaima
Nekomonogatari: Kuro
Really engaging high school sports... drama?; good story and characters.
Just for the first episode. It deserves at least that much recognition.
Minami-ke's fourth season, Hosaka's antics alone made it fantastic.
Filling in an early backstory chapter on Hanekawa, Araragi and Shinobu.

Attack on Titan
Hataraku Maou-sama!
Hentai Ouji to Warawanai Neko
Kakumeiki Valvrave
My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU
The Severing Crime Edge
Suisei no Gargantia
To Aru Kakaku no Railgun S
Incredibly good extended cast, cinematography, and animation.
Very enjoyable comedy with great characters and conflict.
Absurdly fun ride, Tsukiko Tsutsukakushi carried the series.
Not a masterpiece, but delivered some powerful scenes.
Almost too cynical for its own good, but still a noteworthy series.
Interesting, but would've been much better outside of middle school.
It'll inevitably be in the running; I'll support because Chamber.
Very compelling look inside Misaka's struggles during the Sister Arc.

The Eccentric Family
Gatchaman Crowds
Genshiken Nidaime
Monogatari Second Season
Rozen Maiden: Zuruckspulen
Sunday Without God
An intriguingly sincere family drama set in a modern fantasy Tokyo.
Much better than anticipated, great animation and a lot of fun to watch.
Fascinating series; Rui was one of the best characters of the year.
Genshiken continues to deliver great, relatable stories and characters.
Easily one of the best anime of the year once it got itself in gear.
Interesting sidestory in the Rozen Maiden universe; felt unfulfilling though.
Stunningly impressive first two arcs and beautiful animation throughout.

Kill La Kill
Kuroko no Basuke 2
Kyoukai no Kanata
Log Horizon
Nagi no Asukara
Outbreak Company
Yozakura Quartet ~Hana no Uta~
Imperfect with a dull color palette, but with guts and gumption to spare.
Really fun shounen sports series with some stellar animation this season.
Great animation, and I liked the story despite how poorly it was delivered.
A singular example of imaginative anime; I hope it makes the final four.
An interesting, if occasionally boring, series; looking forward to season two.
Still waiting to see what happens in this; not a favorite, but good enough.
A really fun tongue-in-cheek self-aware dramedy for anime insiders.
I can't nail down what this series had but it had it in spades. Great series.

All choices are subject to change (Spring and Fall are giving me the most problems.)

1. Chihayafuru 2 - Probably the show I looked forward to watching the most every week last year. Just hit all the right notes.
2. Problem Children are Coming from Another World, aren't they? - A pretty entertaining fantasy series, albeit a bit short.
3. Nekomonogatari (Kuro) - Just simply for the fact that it's Monogatari.
4. Zettai Karen Children The Unlimited Hyoubu Kyousuke - Interesting Zettai Karen Children spin-off. Always did like Hyoubu Kyousuke.
5. Cuticle Detective Inaba - The funniest and most random show from the winter season. Doesn't get enough credit.
6. Kotoura-san - The first episode. That is all.
7. Maoyuu Maou Yuusha - Episode 9. That speech was just amazing.
8. Love Live School Idol Project - Fun little idol series.

1. Attack on Titan - All aboard the HYPE train. I got on and was not disappointed. The animation/cinematography...just stellar.
2. To Aru Kagaku no Railgun S - The Sisters Arc. The series shined in that arc.
3. Suisei no Gargantia - A Gen Urobuchi work. That's good enough for me. Also Chamber. Animation was beautiful.
4. Hataraku Maou-sama! - A very entertaining and well-rounded comedy series.
5. Hentai Ouji to Warawanai Neko - Hilarious show. Tsukiko and the ED, adorable.
6. Aku no Hana - A very unique psychological drama. People knocked it off for its rotoscoping but I think it worked for the series.
7. My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU - Hachiman, Hachiman, Hachiman. He makes the series and is probably one of the best male MCs last year.
8. The Severing Crime Edge - It was interesting and weird. And I just couldn't help but be intrigued by its weirdness.

1. Eccentric Family - A wonderful series from PA Works. It caught me by surprise and I loved its story and eccentric characters.
2. Silver Spoon - Best slice-of-life series last year in my humble opinion. Hits a lot of the right notes.
3. Monogatari Second Series - It's Monogatari, what else can I say? Loved the Shinobu Time Arc. Can't forget Kaiki, guy was so awesome.
4. Sunday Without God - Surprising series. Those first three episodes were really great. Personally thought it had the best story last season even if it wasn't executed as well as I hoped.
5. No Matter How I Look at It, It's You Guys' Fault I'm Not Popular - Tomoko is just so adorably awkward. Cringe worthy humor.
6. Gatchaman Crowds - Fun series with colorful animation and unique character designs. Also had an awesome OST.
7. Servant × Service - A very entertaining slice-of-life series mixed with comedy.
8. The World God Only Knows Megami-hen - Despite skipping a lot of content from the manga in this season, it was still awesome to see the Goddess Arc animated.

1. Kyousogiga - Truly an imaginative series with uniquely beautiful animation. Surprised this was from Toei.
2. Kill la Kill - All aboard the HYPE train, part 2. Boarded this train and was extremely pleased. Fight Club Mako, so much win.
3. Nagi no Asukara - The most beautiful animation I have seen in the last couple of years. It is that awe-inspiring.
4. Yozakura Quartet ~Hana no Uta~ - Quirky yet fun series. Loved the character designs.
5. Hajime No Ippo Rising - Ah, was so stoked to see one of my favorite sport series return! Loved seeing those intense fights.
6. Kuroko no Basuke 2 - Just looked forward to seeing this every week.
7. Noucome (My Mental Choices) - This series made me laugh too much.
8. Golden Time - Had two of the best supporting characters in my opinion, 2D-Kun and Nana.

Series that didn't make the cut that I feel bad about: Genshiken Nidaime (love the Genshiken series), Beyond the Boundary (loved the animation and the story despite it not being executed as well as I hoped), Gingitsune (very relaxing slice-of-life series), C3 Stella Women's Academy (enjoyed this more than I should have), Non Non Biyori (adorable slice-of-life), Gundam Build Fighters (loved the action and was pretty solid) and Log Horizon (really got my gamer blood pumped up and Akatsuki is awesome.) Bah, I watched and liked too many series.

1. Yama no Susume- As the Sound of Music says "Climb Every Mountain", and this was an amazing short that had lots of hiking info. Aoi is cute too.

2. Oreshura- Kindergarten marriage promises are serious business. Just ask Ai, the best girl.

3. AKB0048 Next Stage. The last episode with "No Name" and how DES goes down was great.

4. Da Capo III. The Blonde Newspaper club President and Magic. That and Charles.

5. Doki Doki Precure. I saw a clip of this at Anime Boston and the way the antagonist goes good was amazing.

6. Kotoura-san. Manabe and Haruka are adorable together(and they obviously like each other).

7. Love Live School Idol Project. Niko Niko Ni! Niko's entry into Muse was great.

8. Maoyuu. That speech "I am human". Wow

1. Zettai Bouei Levithan. The ED theme was great.

2. Space Battleship Yamato 2199. Does the classic justice and actually exceeds the original.

3. To Aru Kagaku no Railgun S. The stuff about the Sisters Arc that we didn't see during Index season 1.

4. Hentai Ouji to Warawanai Neko. Pervert protagonist who loves to quote Oscar Wilde. Also unexpectedly good.

5. Suisei no Gargantia. Profound anime that deals with questions of humanity.

6. Haiyore! Nyarko-san W. Interesting sequel and still had funny references.

7. Oreimo 2. Most controversial ending of the year.

8. Photo Kano. Had some of the stuff I liked about Amagami SS

1. Fate/kaleid liner PRISMA.ILLYA. That Illya vs. Saber Alter fight!

2. The World God Only Knows Megami-hen. Keima dealing with the aftermath grew his character. Poor Chihiro.

3. Gatchaman Crowds. "Bird, Go!" The way that was animated was great.

4. Sunday Without God. Episode 3, just episode 3, the feels.

5. Servant X Service. Catchiest OP of the year. Also how everyone was getting in the way in the last episode.

6. Kin-iro Mosaic. Golden Karen or Golden Alice? The dilemma.

7. Rozen Maiden Third Season. Suigintou was much better done in this anime than the previous ones.

8. Kitakubu Katsudou Kiroku. The way the club started was so heartwarming.

1. Arpeggio of Blue Steel -Ars Nova- . Takao just made this one for me.

2. Yowamushi Pedal. Onoda singing "Hime, Hime" while keeping up with the ace cyclist was funny.

3. Diamond no Ace. I'm a sucker for baseball shounen.

4. Golden Time. Yui Horie in one of her best roles.

5. Kill La Kill. Mako one of the best sidekicks ever.

6. Nagi no Asukara. I adore the ED.

7. Little Busters! Refrain. The Kurugaya arc was amazing!

8. Miss Monochrome. Hey, she climbed Olympus Mons!

Your posts of going up and beyond whats needed always makes me smile. The banners for each season are bloody awesome

The banners I saw someone else do last year and I liked the touch so I stole it.
