I never though that I'd fall in love like this... but I would marry my cat if I could, says Karl Lagerfeld: Fashion designer's pet has an iPad, two maids and dines at his table

LMAO, OP thanks for the laughs

So is it the path to true love, or just a trip down the garden path?

Marrying yourself... I think that's just called being alone.

That's called extreme narcissism which I guess if you're happy that way then fine but no, you don't legally marry yourself. With all the different types of sexuality out there you have to draw limits, I'm all for gay marriage but just look at this.

Object Sexuality - Falling in love with inanimate objects or things like trees
Bestiality - Falling in love and or having inter species sexual relations
Agalmatophilia - Falling in love with statues
Necrophilia - Loving dead bodies

Should we start letting these people have rights to marriage? Should you be allowed to marry your car, your parrot, Michelangelo's David, or a body from the morgue. I say no. Also, narcissists can be some pretty damaging people, I know.

Homosexuality, people just need to get over it. It's an act seen across several species of mammals, which humans are one, its a minority act but it's not abnormal so let it go.

I do find varying sexuality interesting though for the simple fact that all living things on earth share a similar genetic code. Whether you like it or not and no matter your religious belief this is scientific fact. Trees and Humans are distant relatives. Single celled organisms and humans are distant relatives. All humans living today are related to each other to a certain generation. That connection is fascinating and amazing at times, we all come from the same place and at the end of the day we're all made of star stuff. This is digressing a lot I know but I think it can explain where confusions come from in some people that do fall in love with objects or what not.

I want to marry my body pillow

But seriously though, I think marrying yourself is pretty stupid -.-

I'm against the idea, though only because I wouldn't want a single individual to have the same tax implications/benefits that a married couple would have. That is just not fair, and not equitable.

I also do no see what purpose this would serve. If any.

Something just made me curious.

What if it was you but from an alternate timeline or universe? In other words two of the same person existing in the same universe but from different times or universes. Forget about paradoxes because if it's happening then obviously the universe unto which you live has rules of physics like space-time and what not that allow for paradoxes to exist.

Like if Saber from Fate Stay Night fell in love with Saber Alta

Would that be alright or then can you marry yourself since you really are two different people in a way?

also

Would that be considered incest?

Seems pointless, given marriage is supposed to be a contract between two different consenting adults. You are not a different adult from yourself.

Imagine I divorcing myself. I wanted that all my life!

Unfortunately you are the the only person you cannot personally divorce, given you're stuck in your own body and thus can't actually get away from said person.

You know, I'm wondering though, what about conjoined twin marriage, barring the incest complications should that be legal?

How odd. I've never thought of it before! It's way too confusing to think about, in my opinion. And here I was thinking, "Oh! So you basically love yourself? You have a lot of self-esteem" in a non-sarcastic way. I find it quite interesting. Hmm. I would love to find someone with the same hobbies and interests and personality as me, but I don't think I would want to marry myself. I think that takes a whole other level of dedication to "loving yourself." And since we always find faults within ourselves, I think you'd REALLY have to be confident for that...
