Not a fan of the subtitles on netflix. Tried watching Samurai champloo but it kinda ticked me off how they put sound effects as subtitles. I mean we can hear the sound, we don't need to see it in the text as well.

Psst. You have Closed Captioning on not subtitles. Check the player bar for the sound options and set it to English subtitles not English CC subtitles. >.>

Protips For Watching Anime On Netflix:

If you check your account settings there is an option for Subtitle Appearance where you can set the font, colour, drop shadow, every possible option you want to customize the subtitles to your liking.

I have Canuckistan Netflix and have actually been pleasantly surprised at some of the recent additions as they're getting more recent Funimation titles at a pretty good pace lately and Funimation titles are usually the ones that don't make it on CR.

Oh God please, no. I hope they don't buy out streaming rights for it on CR. I know there are contracts in place but who's to stop Netflix when they decide they want to be the only streaming site to have Magi or Kill la Kill...

No worries. If you check the list, you'll see none of these titles have been removed from CR (or any of the other places Aniplex spreads them around to).

When it comes to streaming, Aniplex of a America seems to subscribe to a "the more places, the better" philosophy.

Aniplex appears to be a new content partner for Netflix.

Sword Art Online was added on March 15, 2014
[Available both subtitled and dubbed]

Madoka Magica was added March 29, 2014 (the day this topic was created.
[Available both subtitled and dubbed]

Fate Zero was added April 16, 2014.
[Available both subtitled and dubbed]

Blue Exorcist was added May 2, 2014.
[Available subtitled only. The dub was not made available to Netflix.]

Kill la Kill was added May 22, 2014.
(InstantWatcher.com listed this as available May 23, but it was available in the Central time zone some time before midnight April 22).
[Available subtitled only]

Greylurker confirmed these same titles are also available via Netflix in Canada.

Gurren Lagann was added September 2, 2014.
[Available both subtitled and dubbed]

Samurai Flamenco was added October 16, 2014.
[Available subtitled only]

UPDATE: Magi (both series) is available on Netflix. (Apparently I missed this one in the past).
[Available both subtitled and dubbed]

where is oreimo
Even if you've seen these on CR, it might be worth watching just so the streaming count reflects to Netflix, "Yes, we want more of this".

Of course, this will also be a boon to those either wanting to see the dub (for those series that have it available) or who had streaming issues when attempting to watch on CR.

Not on Netflix (at least not in the US).

I'm not certain what criteria are used to determine which Aniplex anime end up there.

InstantWatcher finally picked it up and lists it as added today, although we know better. I've edited the initial message to confirm it as added on November 1, 2014.

Since resuming with Gurren Lagann, they appear to be establishing a new pattern of adding a new Aniplex title about every 6 weeks. If that holds up, I wonder what we might get in mid-December?

11/15/2015:

The Irregular at Magic High School has been added (subtitled only, of course).

This is only 2 weeks after the last addition, so perhaps this could temporarily be a return to Aniplex's original schedule of adding a new series to Netflix twice per month.
