I'm almost 20, and seeing how happy I am with anime, I don't think I'll ever grow out of it. i picture myself as an old lady watching it and getting a kick out of it. instead of other stereotypical old lady things I'll be doing, I'll be watching anime and reading manga like newspapers.

Probably never, but I will say, it's very possible that your genre interests may change. I was all mecha as a teenager, but I've gone onto a broader scope of anime since then.

Just turned 21 and i still love anime, anime can have much more mature and engaging story lines than almost all of the tv shows on cable so that makes it more mature to watch than the garbage on mainstream tv. Dont get me wrong some anime is just stupid half naked girls shown for young teens, but watch shows like ghost in the shell, darker than black, gungrave, black lagoon, time of eve, and so many more that actually make you think or are just mature and entertaining and tell me anime is for kids or a certain age is too old to watch those....

I'm 54 and the only I worry about is that I'll kick the bucket one day without seeing the conclusion of some of my favorite anime.

Well for me I just suddenly stopped watching anime one day. There was really no reason for it I just stopped, I didn't read manga, didn't watch any shows nothing. About I year later I just started watching anime again and asked myself why the hell did I stop in the first place. Since then all I do is watch anime all day everyday. So I believe anime is a disease, but it's one of those good disease's that spreads to other people and then those people become infected like in a zombie apocalypse. However it's more like the anime apocalypse, but then again it's not really an apocalypse it's more like the second coming of chirst and everybody will convert to the anime religion...so yeah I dont really know what I'm saying anymore but the thing is anime knows no age because anime is immortal.

never too old for anime in general but your tastes may change

for example putting on your big boy pants and watching more seinen than shonen

its funny this comes up. I remember being 13 when Everquest first came out and jumping on to play that game just to find out I was one of the youngest people in my guild at the time (ah 1999, what a year). Now I'm 28 and finding myself to be one of the older gents in guilds and its kinda depressing at times. But as long as you enjoy it yourself who gives a rats behind... as long as it's legal >.>

I'm 32 and i've been watching since I was 15.

The only thing I hope is the studios see a bigger cash injection with on demand so we can get some of the stand out animes like I saw in the mid 90s.

I watch more anime now at 42, than I have ever watched before. My 77 year old father still enjoys watching Bugs Bunny, the Road Runner, and those cartoons. My point is that you are never too old if you enjoy it.

You're never too old for anything. You'll get weird looks, but you shouldn't have to give up something you enjoy just because you're older.
