I have been frustrated that some of my favorite anime ended or are en already. I have some of the anime endings and a few of were very bad that didn't make any sense. Some others were sort of cliffhanger endings that deserve a new season. The problem that I have is that when the anime ends in a sort of cliffhanger, they take too long to get renewed or sometimes they dont get renewed at all. It's been months since I watched Haganai and yet, I have to wait for at least over a year or so before a 3rd season gets renewed or not at all. Then Tokyo ravens had a very rushed ending. Other anime likeHamatora, Chunibyou, strike the blood, imocho and others which should get another season have to wait until "new material" for the project gets a green light. It could take months or even years to show up on television or being streamed. I really do not the patience to wait a year or so long.

So, I'm debating to stop watching anime completely. I dont like stop watching anime, but im just frustrated with the timing for a new season of an specific anime gets the go ahead or not. May be im jumping over a limb here and I should wait. What do you think? Any advice?

Well personally I fill the void with stuff from the new season. There is quite a bit I am looking forward to this spring season. My suggestion is this: Wait until you try a few episodes from the spring line up before quitting anime.

Try to watch some older, completed anime?
(or you can go crazy and start looking for the sources of adaptation for such anime that you have been watching--if it isn't original material...often enough, they are based off of light novels or manga)
Get picky and start reading reviews for completed anime to see if it is worth your time?

^basically what I did after I ran through all my recent anime.

If you don't have the patience, then get the patience. You're going to have to wait. It's not hard. Do what BlueHaro103 suggested -- find older titles (of which are in limitless abundance) or read the source material of an adaptation you're wanting another season of.

This.

If you got so much time that you go nuts over your anime-shows ending, you might want to try and get some help, or a couple of hobbies.

Start a cosplay!
Pick your favorite character that you can relate to from one of those shows and work out a cosplay of them. ^.^ I feel like that helps keep the anime alive in your head and lets the characters stay close to your heart.

Really, everyone hates waiting for the next season of anime that they love. I'm still waiting and praying that the NANA manga will be finished and they'll finish that anime, but I'm not holding my breath =-(
All you can do is learn to deal with it and find other anime to watch in the meantime. There are tons. =-) The animation companies are working hard to give us shows we love, the least we can do is be understanding and patient while we wait with a desperate excitement =-P

Hi,

This appears to be very much a personal/help thread, and you seem to have gotten some responses already, so I'll be closing this down for now. If you wanted to create a more generic thread about quitting anime (in the anime forum), ask a more personal question in the help/advice thread, or look for suggestions to get you out of your anime doldrums over in the recommend me an anime thread, those would probably be better in the future.

Hope that helps,
-Makoto
